Toronto’s Top Steakhouses 2025: The Good, the Bad & the Untasted

June 06, 2025 Updated Article

Listen up, meat lovers. Toronto’s steakhouse scene is sizzling hotter than a cast-iron skillet in 2025. We’ve got old favorites getting facelifts and new contenders stepping into the ring. Now, I haven’t had a chance to stuff my face at all of these joints yet, but I’ve got the inside scoop on what’s cooking. Here’s my no-bullshit rundown of the steakhouses making waves in T.O. this year.

Harbour 60 Toronto

4.3

Write a Review

Opened: 1999, Reopened March 2025 after major renovation. Harbour Sixty has been the granddaddy of Toronto steakhouses for years, and for good reason. This place screams luxury from the moment you walk in, with service smoother than their aged whiskey. I’ve been coming here since they opened, and it’s always been a reliable spot for impressing clients or burning through expense accounts. The Location: 60 Harbour St, Toronto, ON M5J 1B7 The Vibe: Old money meets new money The Price: Your firstborn’s college fund The Order: Dry-aged ribeye, lobster mashed potatoes, Caesar salad (prepared tableside) The Rating: 9/10 Takeaway: Still the king of Toronto steakhouses, but I hear they’ve just had a $15 million facelift. Can’t wait to check it out and see if it’s worth the hype.

Blue Bovine Steak + Sushi House

4.1

Opened: January 2025 Blue Bovine is the new kid on the block, backed by some serious star power. When I heard Kevin O’Leary and Mitch Marner were getting into the steak game, I rolled my eyes so hard I almost saw my own brain. But word on the street is that this place might actually have the chops to back up the hype. The Location: Union Station, 65 Front Street West, Toronto, ON The Vibe: Celebrity-backed, but don’t let that scare you The Price: Probably astronomical, but I’ll let you know The Order: TBD, but I’ve heard whispers about a 45-day dry-aged porterhouse The Rating: N/A Takeaway: Kevin O’Leary and Mitch Marner are behind this one. I’m skeptical, but intrigued. It’s on my hit list.

Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse

Opened: 2007, Moved to new location in early 2025 Jacobs & Co. has been my go-to for years when I want a guaranteed knockout meal. Their dry-aging program is the stuff of legend, and the tableside Caesar salad is a show in itself. I’ve celebrated more birthdays and closed more deals here than I care to admit. The Location: 12 Brant Street, Toronto, ON (old location) The Vibe: Sophisticated carnivore’s paradise The Price: Second mortgage territory The Order: Caesar salad (tableside), any dry-aged cut, lobster thermidor The Rating: 9.5/10 Takeaway: Consistently excellent. They’ve moved to a new spot, and I’m itching to see if they’ve maintained the magic.

Aera

3.8

Write a Review

Opened: Mid-2024 I hit up Aera for my birthday last year, and let’s just say the jury’s still out. The space is drop-dead gorgeous, like something out of a Bond film, but style doesn’t always equal substance. The cocktails were on point, but the steak left me wondering if they forgot to season it. The Location: 8 Spadina Ave. #3800, Toronto, ON The Vibe: Instagram bait with a side of steak The Price: Birthday splurge The Order: Cocktails were great, steak was… there The Rating: 6/10 (based on one visit) Takeaway: Style over substance, but they might be finding their footing. Worth another shot.

Animl Steakhouse Toronto

4.6

Write a Review

Opened: Late 2024 Animl is the brainchild of the INK Entertainment crew, and I’m both excited and terrified to try it. These are the folks behind some of Toronto’s hottest nightclubs, so I’m curious to see how they translate that energy into the steakhouse world. Will it be all sizzle and no steak? Only one way to find out. The Location: 420A Wellington St W, Toronto, ON M5V 1E3 The Vibe: Nightlife meets meat life The Price: TBD The Order: I’ve heard rumors of a “Tomahawk Experience” The Rating: N/A Takeaway: INK Entertainment’s foray into steaks. Color me curious, but cautious.

Sammarco

4.8

Write a Review

Opened: November 2024 Now this is a concept I can get behind. An Italian steakhouse? It’s like they read my diary. I’m picturing Tuscan-style steaks, maybe some homemade pasta, and definitely a wine list that’ll make me forget about my cardiologist’s warnings. The Location: 4 Front St E, Toronto, ON The Vibe: Old World Italian meets New World steak The Price: TBD The Order: Bistecca alla Fiorentina is calling my name The Rating: N/A Takeaway: Italian steakhouse? Sign me up. It’s high on my to-eat list.

The Playbook Commons

Write a Review

Opened: February 2025 A sports bar and steakhouse hybrid? This could either be a stroke of genius or a total disaster. I’m imagining prime cuts and prime time sports, but can they pull off high-end steaks in a casual atmosphere? I’m intrigued enough to find out. The Location: 111 Princes’ Blvd, Ground Floor, Toronto, ON M6K 3C3 The Vibe: Sports bar meets steakhouse (could be genius, could be disaster) The Price: TBD The Order: I hear the burger is a sleeper hit The Rating: N/A Takeaway: Curious to see if they can pull off the high-low concept. I’ll report back.
