Visited Animl for the first time with my family to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Everything was fantastic - atmosphere, service, and the food! Gabriel, our server, was exceptional. He took the time to walk us through the menu, make some great recommendations and was always smiling and keeping things light hearted. The food was wonderful and our steaks were cooked to perfection. Thank you Gabriel and Animl for a memorable evening. Will be back again.

Animl is hands down the best steakhouse in King West and easily one of my top five in all of Toronto.

The vibe is incredible, the service is top-tier, and you can tell there’s strong leadership behind every detail from the way the team moves to the quality of the food on the plate. The steaks are cooked to perfection, the lobster tagliatelle is the best I’ve had anywhere, the sides and cocktails are just as impressive, and they go above and beyond to cater to your preferences.

Whether you’re planning a romantic date night, a group celebration, or a corporate dinner, this place delivers every time. It’s an experience. Highly recommend!

Loveee Animl, the decor, the food, the drinks, the service, the vibes, the service, the staff especially Saralyn. I have never been disappointed by the service each time I’ve been here so it’s only right that I leave a review. Pictures should show I go here when I’m in the city. It’s one of my favorite places and highly recommend, I loveeee their patio probably the best patio in the city in my opinion this has to be a hidden gem in the city. But the bar has my heart the conversation, the vibes, saralyn is truly a sweetheart and part of why we keep coming back. I highly recommend the espresso martinis with tequila & baileys. Also the sticky toffee pudding here is to die for. I love the steak here I just didn’t have a picture of it. Honestly this place is a 12/10.

First time to this restaurant for celebrating my bf bday! The oyster rockerfella was taken off the menu already, our server Sacha was kind enough to check with the kitchen, and they were able to serve us this dish as some other larger groups were also ordering it. We also got the pastrami as appetizer. As for main, we had the 24oz porterhouse with chimichurri sauce and potato gratin dauphinoise on the side. Everything tasted amazing and service was outstanding 🙌 to top it off, the team surprised us by taking care of the dessert bill (the gold bar) as a bday gift 💗 Thank you for making our date memorable and thank you again to our server Sacha for taking pic for us 😊

Animl Steakhouse feels tailor-made for the social-media crowd. The space is undeniably beautiful, and judging by the number of phones in the air, that’s clearly part of the draw. If you’re looking for a stunning backdrop for photos, this place absolutely delivers.

That said, while the food and service were good, they don’t quite rise to the level of Toronto’s more established, food-driven steakhouses. Compared to spots that prioritize refinement over spectacle, Animl falls just a touch short.

One thing worth calling out: the Wagyu steak flight. The quality of the meat itself was good, but the presentation was surprisingly stark — almost oddly plain for a restaurant that puts so much effort into visual flair elsewhere. It didn’t feel as elevated or thoughtfully composed as you’d expect at this level. I should also mention that what they do with their caviar service is tragic: Served with greasy small potatoe rostis, the flavour and texture of the caviar is all but lost.

Overall, Animl offers a perfectly pleasant night out, especially if atmosphere and aesthetics are high on your wish list. But when I think of the steakhouses in Toronto that truly pull me back with unforgettable dishes, this one doesn’t quite make that category.

A fine visit — just not a “must return.”

I had a date night with my girlfriend tonight. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and beautiful setting, definitely a nice place for a fine dining experience. Most of the dishes were delicious, but unfortunately, the steak was a big disappointment. (The restaurant’s name is a steakhouse). We ordered it medium rare, but it came out medium well. They remade it, but it still wasn’t cooked correctly. (Medium?) I didn’t want to wait any longer, so I just accepted it. Everything else was great, but the steak really brought the experience down. I do saw several reviews about the steak problems. So please, in order to be a top-rating fine dining restaurant, make sure have the chef who knows how to cook a CORRECT steak with correct medium rare and no BLOOD after cutting. Thanks.

Incredible experience! A must stop for the carnivore. Easy to walk to from the stadium or CN Tower. Friendly staff, awesome DJs and an atmosphere for that special date. I told my friend to order the Diamond Drip shot. Glad they informed us it was $7K and came with a gold (diamond) bracelet? My buddy would have been pissed buying us both one. #friendshipbracelets. They were happy to bring it out to show us. The food was impeccable as it was impressive. Do yourself a favor and come in even for appetizers and drinks, but definitely stay for the food. (Oh, and we took the wine to go 🥴)

Fun atmosphere. Great selection of meats and cocktails. Waiter/Sommelier was fantastic. Seafood appetizers and salads were great. Wagyu trio was really great but the bone in rib eye was bit tough for the price point. Overall really enjoyed the meal and experience.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Our chicken and steak were cooked perfectly and all the sides were excellent. Dessert was delicious and well designed.
Although our server was nice… the service was really slow and not as attentive for the price point. Cocktails weren’t great either.

Wow! Is all I can say about this place.

Came here to eat with two friends and they truly do roll out the red carpet for you and give you a master class experience and make you feel like family and they want to make sure you have the best experience you can.

The inside of this place is beautiful. It felt like I was on a movie set. The three of us to start got the jumbo prawns which they said they have access to the biggest prawns in all of also got oysters, which were super fresh and flavourful. We shared the 32 ounce steak cooked, medium rare juicy, tender, perfectly grilled perfectly cooked. Melt in your mouth like it was butter. We also shared fries which were nice and salty and crispy, the mashed potatoes were creamy and rich and the onions and mushrooms were cooked to perfection.

We had a few beverages which were insanely good. A little expensive but it was worth it.

Still thinking about this place weeks later!!! Everything from start to finish was just exceptional. Our server Emma was amazing, super friendly, gave great recommendations without any pressure, and honestly helped us order the perfect meal. The herbivore martini was so interesting and nothing like I’ve have anywhere before, definitely would recommend!!

The vibe here is next level, the decor is stunning and totally unexpected, especially for a spot tucked away in an alley just off King Street. Loved everything about it and already can’t wait to go back. Can’t say enough good things 🤍🤍🤍

Came here to celebrate a birthday and everything was incredible! Our waitress was attentive and kind, the food was spectacular, and the vibes were immaculate.

We got the caesar salad, lobster tagliatelle, 18oz ribeye with chimichurri sauce, and the gold bar for dessert.

I’m not a huge fan of bacon typically but the bacon that comes with the caesar salad is incredible! The steak was cooked exactly to our liking and our server’s recommendation for the chimichurri sauce was spot on. They comp’d the dessert for my date’s birthday which was so kind!

The servers and waitresses were all very kind, the chef even came to the table to ask how everything was. 10/10 experience, literally wouldn’t change a single thing about this night - we will definitely be back! 🥰

Had my partner's birthday dinner at Animl and wow, what a meal! Everything was so good.

Japanese Milk Bread: Super soft and milky, just perfect to start.

Porterhouse 24oz + 6oz lobster: Tender and really beefy, packed with flavor. Wish it was a tiny bit juicier, but still fantastic. And the lobster? Super fresh and tender with a delicious garlic flavor!

Chilean Sea Bass: THIS was the star! Crispy on the outside, super tender and soft inside. So fresh and savory – easily the best fish I've had in ages.

Desserts (Choco Toffee Pudding & Gold Bar lime mousse): Honestly, didn't expect much, but they were both unbelievably good! A perfect sweet ending.

Seriously recommend this place for a great meal, especially if you're celebrating!!

beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Her service was outstanding – highly recommend! We had such a wonderful time here, and a huge part of that was thanks to Eve. She handled everything with a smile. Five stars for Eve!

The caviar dish and the appetizers were very good. However the seafood Tower itself was not very good. The seafood was bland and had no flavor. It definitely tasted like it had been frozen and rethawed and lost all it's flavour. Our table got two and basically didn't eat one at all. The steaks were surprisingly a bit grisly and harder than I would have expected for the cuts. They weren't overcooked however I think the meat quality may have been off that night.

My friends and I came to celebrate a birthday over the weekend. We got the 24oz porter house steak and also fillet mignon, they were cooked to perfection. Along with the sides such as the mashed potatoes, truffle fries, broccolini, and the mac and cheese, which were all super delicious. For dessert we got the tarte tatin and the chocolate sticky toffee pudding and they also surprised us with a complimentary gold bar dessert!

The service was absolutely amazing and the recommendations made by our server were amazing. One of the owners even came out and welcomed us and thanked us for celebrating with them.

The only minor complaint that I do have is that once we were seated and already ordered drinks, we were not given menus until about 30 minutes after. I am not entirely sure of what their process is but that was my only concern for the night.

I would definitely recommend to visit Animl, and would come back again!

Visited Animl for a friend’s birthday evening and it did not disappoint. Although this establishment has a Wellington address, it is difficult to find at first as it’s tucked down an alley way off of Wellington.
First impressions on entering were nice as doorman was welcoming as well as hostess. Entryway was a tad claustrophobic as a number of people coming in were crammed up against people sitting at the bar, and servers trying to cut through.
Overall atmosphere is lively with a dj playing tunes, eclectic art throughout the restaurant and art deco interiors. Felt like we were transported back in time to the 1920’s.

Table service was excellent with Kamilla who was helpful with the menu, patient with our group of 8 and attentive. Menu choices were good, typical steakhouse style cuts, prices are elevated as expected as it is a high end steakhouse.
Food rolled out flawlessly, as everyone had their food served at the same time and was presented well.
Overall appetizers were excellent, Caesar salad was a favourite of mine. My wife enjoyed the porterhouse with a friend and I enjoyed the 18oz bone in rib eye cooked perfectly. Only complaint would be a bit heavy on the amount of salt used for my steak (and I’m a salt lover), hence the 4 star on the food.
Would definitely revisit as I loved the overall vibe and atmosphere, and the food was high quality.

Animl is bringing back the true meaning of hospitality. All the staff are extremely warm and inviting. The elegant atmosphere is perfect for a date night, and the food was exceptional. We ordered the 18oz striploin and 10oz filet mignon. The quality of the meat was excellent. Huge thank you to Sacha for going above and beyond, and to Emma, our sweet and attentive server. A truly memorable experience from start to finish!

Quality of meat was awesome. Concentrated beefiness and tenderness from dry aging and perfect seasoning saved the stake but there are couple of things to mention. First, the crust was not there. That's something you really expect. Also, there was no butter basting which could be reasonable since they offer sauces or simply their chef prefers not to do that. But still could make a difference in my opinion. Caesar Salad was on spot. We ordered gratin a and mushrooms and both were mediocre. Very plain and underseasoned for my taste at least. Service was nice, ambiance was off the charts and drinks seemed great although we didn't drink that day.
