Having researched Toronto Steakhouses we settled on Jacob & Co. and what a good decision that was. I chose the Striploin and it was the best steak I’ve ever had, impeccably cooked with a solid crust that every great steak needs. The sides of Shrimp and Brocollini were equally delicious. The service was top notch and the atmosphere in the restaurant was vibrant without being overwhelming. A perfect meal to end a perfect stay in Toronto.

Jacob has a great classic Toronto steak place. The service is impeccable. We got the table side Cesar share the steak in a ton of sides. We’ve been several times and they never disappoint.

A very disappointing birthday experience.
For the first time in my life, I arrived at a restaurant on my birthday with a confirmed reservation and left without dinner.
We arrived at Jacob’s Steakhouse with our reservation confirmed, but instead of being seated in the main dining room for dinner, we were directed to the bar. There was no apology and, in my opinion, very little effort to resolve the situation or accommodate us. We finally left.
Fortunately, the evening had a much happier ending. We went to Sassafraz, where we had an excellent ribeye steak and, most importantly, wonderful and welcoming service — at a fraction of the price.
The strangest part? Later, we received an email cancelling the reservation that we had already shown up for the night before.
Not the birthday experience I expected from a restaurant of this reputation and price level.

I visited Jacob’s at happy hour today and had an amazing experience! The happy hour being until 5:30 was great. I think it could only be improved by having the happy hour until 6pm!
There was a live pianist in the piano bar that blew us away! So fantastic. The happy hour is only in the piano lounge area, but there is a variety of seating including the bar itself, many high top tables for groups of 4-6 and lower leather chair type seating. My group really enjoyed the natural light filling the space near our high top table!
The oysters were amazing at $3 each, all the drinks were perfect, and the burger was one of the best I’ve had.
We also ordered the beef tartare and the server recommend it was for 2-4 people which was okay as an appetizer but definitely order your own if you want it as a main.
The service here is why this restaurant shines all the staff work extremely well together and make guests feel so valued. We did not feel rushed at all. For what I ate the bill was around $60 CAD before tax and tip which I thought was fantastic value for the ambience and delicious food.
I will definitely return and hope that happy hour stays around!

Did not disappoint!
Steaks were all perfect and the sides and sauces too!
Not a budget type evening but for a special occasion as this was it was fantastic. Plus the staff gave a complementary prosecco for everyone and complementary dessert to help us celebrate our graduates!!
Super evening!

We had the steak menu during lunch in addition to their special prix fixe offering. I had the 6 oz strip steak with caesars salad and duck fat fries. My guys both had the 14 oz rib eye from Alberta, I think that was dry aged, shrimp cocktail a, and caesar’s salad, and mashed potatoes.
The prix fixe at lunch is a great value at $39 Canadian, whereas the ribeyes were $140 each. The steaks were cooked well with a crisp crust. The Caesars salads were delicious about overly dressed. The popovers were delicious and I’m usually not a fan.The disappointment came when the fried were delivered lukewarm, on the border to tasting cold and wimpy. The server promptly took them back for a refresh so they were hot and crispy. we received nice muffins as gifts at the end of the meal. We were too full for dessert. We were visiting from Vegas and glad we tried the #51 restaurant listed in this year’s top 100 steakhouses.
Our bill was close to $500 Canadian without beverage. We enjoyed our meal.

My husband made a reservation here for my birthday, and honestly, everything was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The atmosphere, the food, and the service were all incredible.
A special thank you to our server, Katrina — she was so kind, professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely sweet. She helped us with everything and made our experience even more enjoyable. You can really tell this restaurant hires wonderful people who truly care about their guests.
We started with the most delicious bread and butter, followed by an amazing Caesar salad, incredible steaks, and such a delicious dessert to finish the night. Everything was perfect.
We truly had such a beautiful and memorable evening here, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special dining experience!

I had a great dining experience overall, highlighted by some truly standout dishes and drinks.
The Food & Drink
• The Warm Seafood Platter: This was absolutely amazing and the highlight of the meal. The variety and quality were top-notch.
• The Steaks: We were very impressed with the steaks; they were incredibly tender and featured a very nice char that added a perfect depth of flavor.
• Burnt Paloma: To wash it all down, I tried the Burnt Paloma cocktail. It was very good and offered a unique, smoky twist on the classic drink.
The only reason I’m not giving a full 5 stars is the pacing of the service. While the staff was professional, we felt a bit rushed immediately after finishing the seafood platter. It would have been nice to have a moment to breathe before the next stage of the meal.
The culinary execution is fantastic. If you go, definitely get the warm seafood platter and a steak—just be prepared for a very efficient service pace!

Easily one of the best steaks i’ve had in Toronto so far. Prior to my visit, I heard a lot about Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse and the experience was amazing. One thing that immediately stuck out was the top level of service where every front of staff was very attentive and helpful. The bartender (Ryan) really took the time to provide his recommendations. The beef tartare was delicious and came with a generous portion. Highly recommend the 30 day house aged 14oz Ribeye. The best steak I’ve had and it was perfectly cooked. Everything from the flavouring, tenderness, and quality of the meat was a 10/10. This steakhouse is definitely worth a visit for steak lovers looking for a special, upscale experience.

One of the best steakhouse experiences in Toronto. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels elegant yet welcoming. The service is truly top-tier and very attentive without being overwhelming.
The steaks are absolutely outstanding. You can really taste the quality of the dry-aged beef and the perfect cooking technique. Every bite was rich, juicy, and full of flavor. If you love premium steak, this place is a must-visit.
The wine selection is also impressive, with many great options that pair perfectly with the food. The tableside Caesar salad and the fresh popovers at the beginning were a great touch that made the experience even more special.
Overall, an exceptional fine-dining steakhouse in Toronto. Perfect for special occasions or for anyone who truly appreciates high-quality meat and professional hospitality. Highly recommended.

The steak are great! Highly recommend the waygu, the oil and fat is perfect balance. The ribeye is also peak. In comparison, the striploin is a little bit less good. The duck fat fries is okay ~~ prefer to order sth lighter for side or appetiser as the steak also heavy. As a Michelin restaurant , the service wasn’t the greatest. My server always don know where she is. Those staffs feel like they are in a rush keep asking us can we clean things. What’s good about the service is the coat check. And I do appreciate they said happy birthday to me:) the environment is nice, classic, comfy. I still hope to hv a little bit more space between table and table. Overall, still recommend to come for the pro steak tasting.

The best part of the meal was the bread served before the main course. It had a crispy crust and was warm and soft inside. However, there was a pudding-like layer at the bottom, probably because the dough didn't rise properly. It would have been even better with black truffle butter for added flavour. Anyway, I still ordered another one before the main course. The second one was perfect.
And then, I would recommend the aged American steak had a pretty dense appearance, with a deep mahogany-brown crust on the outside and a red centre from edge to edge inside. Still, it was just a little off, with a hint of bitterness on the outside. The overall texture was chewy, but the medium-rare doneness was just alright. The American beef flavour wasn't overly rich, but it was still tasty overall.
The beef tartare was a good-sized portion. The meat pieces were relatively large, and you could tell they were fresh. However, the seasoning was somewhat light, highlighting the quality of the beef.
Wagyu Fried Rice was a disappointment. It was neither dry nor fragrant. It didn't taste as good as Black+Blue’s. But my boyfriend said that when he came here two months ago, it was delicious. Maybe it was just today.
The restaurant's interior is old-fashioned and not particularly fancy. The service is inconsistent and hard to judge. They do offer basic friendly service and coat check. However, the waiter serving our table was just okay. When it was time to pay, we noticed the bill listed 'Ontario steak,' but we had ordered the American one. He didn't mention the mistake earlier. It was only when we were checking out that he kept insisting it was just a billing error, and the steak we had was indeed American, with the same price. Since it was our date night, we decided not to make a fuss.
Later, my boyfriend remembered that the server had mentioned 'Ontario steak' before serving. Honestly, it doesn't matter much which country's steak we had - we just wanted a normal dinner. Still, it was disappointing that such a well-known, longstanding restaurant made such a mistake.
