In 1977 our founder Jim Penny acquired the exclusive rights to franchise others and to own and operate TacoTime® restaurants in Canada. In March 1978, our first store opened along Mayor Magrath Drive in Lethbridge, Alberta. From there Jim set out to expand all across western Canada, sharing his passion for quality food and friendly service with new franchises that were joining the TacoTime® family.
In 1993 Ken Pattenden bought Taco Time Canada Inc. from his father-in-law Jim Penny. In 1995 Ken decided to relocate Taco Time Canada Inc. away from its Lethbridge home to a more centralized Calgary in order to be more accessible to franchises and suppliers.
Today TacoTime® has over 108 stores all across Canada, reaching from Vancouver Island all the way out to Thunder Bay.
