My husband was the one that found this Gilley Ave., Burnaby location, in his research for a storage place to hold his collection of stuff, when we downsized from a house to a condo unit. Never would I imagine that our stuff would stay in Storguard for 9 years! We were customers in its first year of business till now, when we have finally determined to give up all 3 storage rooms, the cost of which have become just too high for us! (However, a business man would happily take them over, because of their ideal location in the building!)
Nevertheless, over the years, we have had the extreme personable, warm-hearted and efficient assistance from the manager, Garry and his staff! If you are looking for a superb storage place with light insulation for your merchandise or collection or household items, this place is conveniently located and most importantly you would get straight forward, personable and efficient help from Garry and his staff! They are number 1 on my list of professionals I have ever dealt with!

This is a very clean and well-maintained location. We've had our locker for a while and there have been no issues with cleanliness of our items while being stored there. It's well lit and safe.

Amazing & Friendly staff. Location is easy to access and clean. There is a car wash next to it that I found it pretty useful. Price was fair and I got a great offer with discount to keep my stuff for a longer time. Highly recommended.

Yes, we managed to get it all done over the weekend, but thank you for the extension till today, it was appreciated. It got a bit busy Saturday morning but even then, as with every visit to your facility, it was easy to get to and from our unit and we were in and out with absolutely no hiccups. As always, every part of the facility we used was spotless and amenities were all available and working flawlessly.
It was a pleasure dealing with you right from the outset, always a friendly, helpful, courteous and professional interaction. Nice too to talk music from a familiar era, keep on rocking my friend!

It was a really pleasant surprise to see Garry again. 2 years after we moved out of BC, we returned back and went back to Storguard again. We remember having such a great experience couple years ago, and it was no doubt the same kind of service we experienced again today. Welcomed us back with 25% off our first 4 months. As always, customer service is top notch. Garry took the time to show us the unit to make sure we find what we really want. Can never go wrong with this place. Excellent and easy experience getting a storage locker. Garry was incredibly friendly and helped me out by showing me everything from the unit to the loading area and elevators. Definitely recommend this place!

Avoid Storguard Self-Storage – Misleading Security Claims!

If you value your belongings, do NOT trust this company!

Storguard claims to be "unique in the industry" with their 24-hour on-site security guard and state-of-the-art digital surveillance—but these claims are outright lies. Here’s what happened to us:

Our storage locker was robbed. Thieves drilled out our lock in plain sight, outdoors, yet no one noticed. When we notified Storguard, their responses were shocking:

Cameras weren’t working the night of the robbery—so much for “state-of-the-art surveillance.”
They admitted they don’t actually have an on-site guard, despite boasting about it online and in their marketing materials. Instead, they told us the “guard” works next door and supposedly checks in “once in a while.”
How could a security guard not notice someone suspiciously drilling a lock off a locker outdoors, in plain view? Needless to say, there was no guard on duty, no cameras recording, and no action taken to prevent or stop the robbery. Our expensive tools and personal belongings—including cherished Christmas decorations—were stolen. These items are gone forever.

When we signed up, they assured us that this was the safest facility in the industry. Yet when we confronted them about their failure, they pointed to the fine print in their contract, which conveniently absolves them of responsibility.

This company misleads customers with false promises of security to gain their trust and business. Their customer service is dismissive, cold, and unsupportive. They did nothing to help us recover what we lost.

Don’t be fooled by their fancy website or reassuring sales pitches. This facility is NOT secure, and their promises are a façade. Protect yourself and find a trustworthy storage company—Storguard is not it!

As a long-term customer, I got to know Garry quite well and I can’t say enough about the high level of service he delivers, day in and day out. Just a thorough professional, one who knows his customers by name, is always ready with a smile and a laugh, and who goes about his work with energy and efficiency.

Very Helpful, sociable and supportive staff. Facility is clean, well maintained and a great place to store personal possessions. Many sizes available for storage, easy to locate as is centralized in Burnaby. Highly recommend this facility to anyone needing a place to storage.

Greg helped us found the right size fits our needs and a very friendly payment plan. He is extremely patient, cordial and easy to talk to, just like running into an old friend on the street. Seamless and stress free experience to rent a storage unit and all it took was 15 minutes with the store manager, Garry! I would absolutely recommend the location and the service!!

Garry in the front office was very knowledgeable and helped me figure out the storage size I needed. Facility is clean and well lit. Would definitely recommend.

It was my first time being stuff to a storage unit after my place got flooded. Gary was great at helping me through the whole process and was great an explaining how things worked. Super friendly and respectful. I didn't know what size and he also helped me in that as well. He was also just a phone call away if I had any questions.

While the cost of these units is borderline offensive at $260 (with tax) a month for the second smallest locker, (what isn't in these days of late-stage capitalism and corporate greed?), I must say the front office staff (Garry) is a Rock Star (literally a former bass player in a dope rock band that was/is way better than Nickleback). Super friendly and helpful. Furthermore, the building and lockers are all pristine and clean. Location is good and parking is plentiful.

My partner and I had a great experience with renting a storage locker from Garry. He was extremely kind, accommodating, and answered all of our questions. We would definitely recommend Storguard Burnaby to anyone looking for storage services. Thanks, Garry!

This 5-out-of-5-star review goes to Burnaby-Storguard and Garry Koenig, the property manager. We needed a temporary storage for the content of our (04December2023) flooded basement while it was being repaired. Garry helped us estimate the appropriate storage size prior to moving date. On the moving day he helped guide our Signature-Moving's GVW 11,500kg big truck into the correct bay, and gave us a convenient 10'x10' storage location that he said (and indeed) made our movers and us happy.
This Burnaby-Storguard is brightly lighted 3-storey with big-parking, the 24-hours Auto-Shine car-wash in the same location means that there is always one person inside the facility should any emergency arise. Reading our contract and the Google (bad) recent review confirmed to us that Burnaby-Storguard is a professionally managed and secured storage location perfect for our need.
Bonus: Garry shared his personal experience dealing insurance-related restoration with us and gave a wise advise: "...let them know who is the boss..." - which truly useful for our own insurance-restoration case.

Worst storage facility EVER. HORRIBLE Customer service , they evicted me for NO REASON AT ALL. because the one day I fell asleep in my car after working a night shift. There is nothing in the lease agreement that states I am not allowed to sleep in my own car. I WILL BE BRINGING THEM TO COURT
