What I love the most ab.out this steakhouse is its affordability. The entire family enjoyed the menus and would like to come back here from time to time. I’m really glad to give this place a very high rating to go with my recommendation.

The reservation process is really good. If you are looking for a place to celebrate your special occasion, this is definitely an ideal one. Our entire experience has been awesome and I’m sure you’ll appreciate this place as well.

If you love steaks and are looking for the best place to eat them, come visit Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse. They serve some of the finest steak you can taste. I have been a regular customer of this place for a very long time.

Some of the best steak I've ever had, anywhere. This includes California, Texas and New York. The fabled Kobe steak is usually available and is worth every penny if you've never tried it. If that wasn't enough, the lobster and shrimp are amazing as well. The show is always entertaining, as the good is cooked to order right in front of you in a dazzling and fun manner. Great sushi as well. Ask for Raffy as your chef. He and Michelle provided the best service I've ever had here, and the service is always fantastic to begin with. Consistently impeccable food since my first visit here in 2006

We were passing through Reno and wanted to treat ourselves to a special dinner. Ichiban opens at 5pm so we got a cocktail, pulled a few slots and were there with the first table to be seated. By 6pm the place was full. Chef Rafael was enjoyable, articulate, humorous and witty. He also cooked our dinner to perfection while entertaining everyone at the table including a child. He really helped us unwind and enjoy our meal, or maybe it was the sake. Next time we're spinning our wheels in Reno, we will be catching shrimp tails at Ichiban!

Came here in celebration for graduating with my Masters Degree on Friday night. From the start it was a great experience. Got reservations for 7:30, was seated pretty promptly. The server was super friendly and sweet, asked at the start if anyone was celebrating something. Another person at the table had their birthday. Both the server and the chef made sure that we had an amazing experience. I ordered the filet and shrimp, others in my party got the filet and salmon and filet and shrimp, and the chicken. We all got the fried rice, which was very entertaining to watch being made. At one point the chef took his squeeze bottle of sake, and squeezed it into my friend's mouth which just added to the entertainment and interactive quality of the meal. The rice was great, a lot of it, but good flavors. The appetizers or shrimp or calamari were both very flavorful. The shrimp was personally my favorite, but the calamari had good flavors and wasn't rubbery. For the main courses, the filet just melted in your mouth and my shrimp was awesome. The salmon was flaky, flavorful and not fishy tasting. The only downfall was the chicken. Unfortunately, it was a little overcooked and dry. That was the only downfall of the evening. The service was great. Very personable and fun. Since, I was celebrating graduation, I got a special dessert. It was tempura ice cream, which was very good. I would highly recommend this place. Especially, for a celebration, it is fun and interactive and the food is great.

This is probably the best sushi you can get in Reno. Bar none. The taste is amazing, the variety is wonderful, and the service is sublime. Wayne is an AMAZING chef; calmly competent and great at constructing any roll, with any alteration. I watched him turn an avocado into strips of avocado in about one minute! And our hostess Tara was on-point, friendly, and willing to chat while remaining efficient and supremely competent at her job. Appetizers are included in the all you can eat price, so I would even call it cost-effective. I will definitely be returning! ALERT LADIES: THERE. ARE. PURSE. HOOKS!

I brought a group of 30 middle school students to Reno for a college tour of UNR in April. Most of them had never been out of Las Vegas and even fewer had ever been to a restaurant like this. The staff was BEYOND amazing with them. The waitresses took the time to explain everything that they served to the students and their options for dinner. The cooks dazzled them with their culinary showmanship. The students' faces were priceless throughout the entire experience and all of them were filming with their cell phones. Sophie was amazing in not only assisting us in making the reservations, but kept following up with us throughout the evening to make sure we were being taken care of. I could not have asked for a better experience for my kids!! It is all they talked about when we returned to school. Oh....and btw....the FOOD???.....AMAZING!!!! It was simply delicious! I have never had miso soup that I liked and I could've had another bowl of this one. The shrimp that come with the dinner I could've eaten a plate full. And the steak was so tender and delicious...perfect with the spicy mustard!! I hope to bring another group back on our next trip.

Ichiban is a Japanese Teppanyaki steakhouse, in the Benihana style. My family really enjoys Benihana, so we decided to give Ichiban a try. In our opinion, Ichiban is better than Benihana. The presentation/entertainment/cooking of the food is very similar, but the quality of the food choices seems to be much higher.

A full block away from valet parking/parking garage. Into Harrah's, up one escalator, down another. Interesting entry over a Japanese-style arched bridge. Nicely decorated, two large-screen TVs showing a football game, but no sound which was fine. Our party of ten was seated at a grill with room for 12, so there was plenty of room.
Interesting menus: at the 4:30, 5 and 5:30 seatings, there's an early bird menu with two kinds of chicken, several seafoods and filet mignon. Those items are not prepared by the teppanyaki chef but in the kitchen. They are about half the price of the regular teppanyaki dishes, but include the same miso soup, cucumber salad, shrimp or calimari appetizer, stir-frieg vegetables, and dessert. The early-bird tempura chicken was quite good. The other early bird chicken dish ordered was forgotten until after the meal. It was then brought out with apologies. The green tea ice cream for dessert was excellent.
Those who ordered teppanyaki meals were very satisfied. Their meals also included miso soup, cucumber salad, shrimp or calimari, stir fried vegetables, and dessert. The filet mignon was prepared to he correct doneness, the paper-wrapped salmon very good, and the chicken fine. The albacore tuna was very rare. The fried rice, extra, was prepared on the grill and served deftly with great panache.
Three Japanese beers were available, Kirrin, Sapporo and Asahi and in small and large sizes. No soda refills were offered and the bar/table was cleaned of used dishes only sporadically. Some used dishes were just left.
Ichiban offers a free birthday dinner for locals on their birthdays with a party of four or more. Including our birthday celebration, we were aware of many other parties celebrating birthdays on this Sunday evening.
The noise level was what you would expect with multiple teppanyaki chefs tending to ten or more groups.

I loved the chef's artistry in making and presenting all the different food items--many Asian courses--my favorite food. It was my birthday and we got a special dessert. Everything was done to perfection and I had plenty to eat. I've eaten at this kind of restaurant before and it is always memorable.

Ever since we tried Ichibans in 2013, we come here just about every time we come to Reno. There is a sushi chef there, named Vinnie, that always makes our experience the best. He is attentive to your needs and will make you whatever you want. He will even custom make a roll for you if you don't like something or if you want a certain ingredient in a roll. We were there last night and watched him interact with a customer. She doesn't like sea weed but she wanted a sushi roll. Vinnie used some other type of wrap and she loved it !! Vinnie told them, don't worry I know you will like it ! She loved the roll and said it was the best sushi roll she has ever had ! He also suggests the customer to have an item a certain way as he knows it tastes better that way. All the ingredients in the sushi taste so fresh. I'm not a big sashimi guy, but it's pretty tasty here. We have not eaten on the teppan yaki (benihana style) side of the restaurant yet. But we see and feel the heat from the fire on the grills. They always do a certain cooking technique that creates a giant fireball and the whole table erupts in awe and excitement. One day we will try that side, but for now wet are good with AYCE and our sushi chef Vinnie. I wish Vinnie would come to San Jose and open a sushi restaurant in my hometown !!! I know it would be a hit as he has some special rolls and sauces not seen in other sushi restaurants. He just always makes sure everything is right and the food is tasty. Plus he makes sure you got enough to eat. If you leave here hungry, you either don't like sushi or you are on an extreme diet. Talking with Vinnie, he created some of the sauces for the sushi. The suace he puts together for the baked green mussels is unbelievable ! I can't say enough about the mussels because they are the best I have ever had anywhere !! We honestly make special trips to Reno just to eat at Ichiban's and have the mussels. It's that good !! Come on Vinnie, come to San Jose ! My wife won't eat sushi at home anymore. She says I will wait to go see Vinnie.

When we first arrived we were disappointed that we had to wait until the table was completely full. Although we were the first two arrive, we were ordered to sit on the seats to the side. We didn't like that but it got much better after that. We received the same portion of food as everyone else and the chef was entertaining. The server was also cheerful and humorous. The wife and I shared the Imperial and it was plenty of food.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Prices were reasonable, food was very, very good, chef put on a great show. Can't say enough about it. We will be looking for an Ichiban restaurant in our home area.
