The true house of international bier

I don't have much cause to attend an establishment at Lansdowne and Bloor, but I must say I stumbled upon this fantastic little gem by word of mouth, and have been going back regularly ever since.

An eclectic menu ranging from burgers to Asian fare is a definite selling point, but the true delight is the incredible beer selection. Everything imaginable from all over the world is made available, and new beers are brought in weekly.

The staff are friendly, and the feel of the place is comfortable. They have a fantastic patio oasis hidden in the back that is excellent for a summer beverage. The location leaves something to be desired (particularly for a devout east-Torontonian), but the place makes a trip worth it.

I'd luv 2 check out the patio in the summertime if I'm in TO during the warmer months. The menu sounds really interesting :)

I love a great patio!

Delicious barely begins to describe it

For an all-around meal, I haven't found anything as delightful as a night at Gio Rana's.

Always packed to the rafters, Gio's has a bustling, warm feel that is perfect for a night out with friends. With a menu that feels like a modern take on Tuscan-style dining, fantastic service, and a very good wine list, it is the kind of place you can take clients, dates, or friends on their birthdays.

The menu is frequently updated, and it is all prepared fantastically. My personal favourites include their risotto, a sexy duck that lives up to its name, and shredded involtini that makes me mouth water and my heart flutter just at the thought of it.

Wow! Your descriptions of some of the foods was making my mouth water as I read your review.
I've never had involtini b4. Is this a type of pasta dish? I guess I'll have 2 mark this place down for my soon-to-be visit to TO. :)

I have not tried Gios at this location - but will. I went many times when it was on yonge at eg. The nose right? You might want to try 7 numbers on eglinton - or their downtown location - similar menu/style with mamma cooking in the front. Cousins of Gio I think!

My favourite burger place

Hair of the dog is a great little place just to the south end of the village. In addition to an all-around good menu, they have a standout burger that is not to be missed.

But what really keeps me coming back (at least in the summer) is that patio. An outdoor oasis with great people watching on church street, and great drinks.

While the service can be hit and miss, the food has always been satisfying.

The best pub in town

The House on Parliament is simply the best pub in Toronto.

Comfortable, well-run, and always bustling, the pub serves high-quality pub food with a french flare that simply cannot be beat. In addition to a regular menu (including the best pulled-pork sandwich I have tasted, and some very tasty tourtiere), they offer fantastic specials each day with a quality that far outstrips the price.

I can't think of anywhere I would rather have a casual dinner with friends, particularly in the fall when their below-street patio is a perfect place to take in a beverage with friends.

Soundz like another gr8 place to eat! Wow, how will I ever choose when I'm there in the New Year?

I agree..I love the food..always has amazing new items! The company is great too!

A little treat on Degrassi St.

Bonjour Brioche is easily one of my favourite Toronto establishments: and definitely my favourite place to brunch.

Although weekends can be busy, the french toast (made from day-old pastries crushed into an egg batter and baked in a loaf pan) is enough to make me brave any line.

They also have excellent croissants and coffee for a quick takeout order. But while I enjoy their bread in house (served with delicious jams), there are other baguette places that I prefer. The rest of their breads are marvelous though.
