As a food lover and traveLler I've had some great food and am delighted to find that this place has excellent food with superior ingredients with a creative chef who combines the most unique combinations. The sauces are top notch and the meats and salads delicious. Even dessert was excellent quality. Good job guys! Think about taking reservations as thts the one thing I was told I didn't like.

For an all-around meal, I haven't found anything as delightful as a night at Gio Rana's.

Always packed to the rafters, Gio's has a bustling, warm feel that is perfect for a night out with friends. With a menu that feels like a modern take on Tuscan-style dining, fantastic service, and a very good wine list, it is the kind of place you can take clients, dates, or friends on their birthdays.

The menu is frequently updated, and it is all prepared fantastically. My personal favourites include their risotto, a sexy duck that lives up to its name, and shredded involtini that makes me mouth water and my heart flutter just at the thought of it.

Wow! Your descriptions of some of the foods was making my mouth water as I read your review.
I've never had involtini b4. Is this a type of pasta dish? I guess I'll have 2 mark this place down for my soon-to-be visit to TO. :)

I have not tried Gios at this location - but will. I went many times when it was on yonge at eg. The nose right? You might want to try 7 numbers on eglinton - or their downtown location - similar menu/style with mamma cooking in the front. Cousins of Gio I think!

It's really really nice to have a post modernist, ironic statement in the heart of Leslieville. Left over glue covers a ripped up floor, with empty picture frames on the walls, just to name a few touches in this former bank. Gio's menu follows the southern Italian tradition, with veal, involtini, and beef tenderloin, just to name a few.
