Great office

Went for a consultation (as I'm a new patient of Dr. Hoa's), and a teeth cleaning.
The staff was great and Dr. Hoa was very thorough with me. Even though I received some bad news, he made me feel very comfortable and did everything he could in assisting/reassuring me through the next steps of the process.
Definitely going back and recommend this place to anyone seeking a new dentist in the city (just like me)!

Delish

I had been hearing about Smoke's for some time now and finally ended up paying them a visit.
I ordered a small (as warned) smoked bacon poutine.
It was very delicious. Having been to Quebec many times in my younger years, I distinctly remember the white cheddar cheese curds being squeaky. Sure enough, Smoke's has REAL Quebec cheese! Not too mention, some hearty gravy and fresh-cut fries. What I was most surprised/pleased with, is how they didn't skimp out on the the bacon. Not over-cooked, or too greasy, the bacon was just perfect.
Couldn't have asked for a better rainy-day comfort food.
The menu is quite extensive. All poutine based with various toppings and ingredients for you to get crazy with (i.e.: pulled pork, nacho-style, even vegetarian).

Pretty flowers

I went last minute on my lunch break to order flowers. They were to be sent with someone the following morning to send my condolences for a family loss.
The florist asked me if I had anything in mind. Not knowing a thing about flowers, I gave her a price point, colour scheme and asked that they only be fresh cut flowers ready for 5pm that day!
When I went to pick up the bouquet at 5pm, they were absolutely beautiful. They even put together a makeshift vase so that they would endure the lengthy trip (and yes, they did keep).
I was impressed and plan to return for any bouquets or flowers I may need in the future.

Great Gelato Place

My friend and I just went for lunch and decided that wasn't enough, and wanted ice-cream.
Strolling along Eglinton Ave., we came across the adorable Hotel Gelato.
The place is real nice and everyone is super friendly.
As we bolted to the back of the restaurant to the colourful spread of gelato options, the young man serving us was real knowledgeable about everything and patient with us .. considering how many flavours we tested out. They were all so delicious, especially in mixing them.
I've also been there for grilled panini sandwiches, too - just a little bit pricey.
All in all, great place and I look forward to more ice-cream trips in the future!

Not impressed

I went to get my haircut as a walk-in client the one day and will never go back.
I approached the front desk and the girl working there was avoiding making eye contact with me. When I spoke and asked if there was anyone available to cut my hair, she was very short with me in saying yes. She then asked who I wanted to cut my hair. This was my first time in that salon, so I explained to her I had never been before and didn't haven't a specific stylist that I wanted to work with. At this point she pointed to a sign that was tucked away in a corner that had the prices listed. What I can only imagine she meant by pointing at that sign after asking what she had asked was whether or not I wanted a Sr. or Jr. stylist to cut my hair. At this point I responded a jr. stylist by which she left the desk. I sat down assuming she went to get someone. A different girl then approached me and asked that I follow her. I did where she washed my hair with freezing cold water! Even after I...

Pleased

Went for dinner with my boyfriend on Valentine's Day. At first glance, the restaurant didn't look too promising. With our tablecloth and menus placed underneath the glass table-top, it looked dated and a little cheesy. There was no music playing when we initially arrived, and no one really greeted us at the door either. However, the food was delicious. The restaurant's complimentary biscuits were warm and fresh - very delicious. We were also pleased with their beer and wine selection. My boyfriend had the steak dinner while I had the stuffed chicken. We were both very pleased with our entrees. For dessert we split a slice of chocolate raspberry cake and it wasn't anything to really write home about. Judging from the other desserts showcased, I would think it's just not their strong suite. Overall, I'd go back.
