NO CARE FOR HUMAN LIFE AND WELL BEING
Hello, I would just like to apologize in advance if my review seems overly frustrated maybe after you read it you will be equally as frustrated as I am. I signed my tenancy agreement around the 9th of september 2011 to move in on the 1st of September 2011 at 35 Fountainhead. Even though they had my first and last months cheque since August 15th 2011. However they told me I could not move in till after the 1st of september on the first of september becaus the apartment was not ready, the flooring had not been done, painting had not been done, the tap was broken, they had not sprayed for roaches, bed bugs or mice and trust me when I tell you that it is over run with all 3. Anyway eventually in mid October yes Mid october I moved in, had to take all the costs of keeping my new furniture which was delivered in september had to keep things in storage by friends etc.. Ended up having cable and internet installation being delayed and me being charged penalties etc.. Eventually Metcap...

Eventually Metcap still charged me for september had to fight them for several months to get them to agree that my occupancy really started mid October by no fault of my own and they tried to ruin my credit. Then I had issues with them illegally entering the apartment, they would give you notice for one day that pest control or other maintenance or contractors would come, then they would come another day, having supplied no new notice and just enter your apartment. I have woken up to find men and yes i am a single 22 year old female living alone, in my apartment and when I would ask them to leave, to let me get dressed, they would say we need to make sure you are ready for whatever treatment they planned to do that day or the next. anyways after having my privacy and rights ignored so many times i never complained.
My next issue is with the state of the smell in their cupboards and in their kitchen and bathroom I guess with all the dead roaches and stuff it caused it to stink. eventually I bought a pantry and I no longer put any of my things in their kitchen cupboards.Other issues like the hot water not working properly during winter, the heat being turned off etc are just normal everyday issues you get with this Building.
Finally the straw that has broken the camels (MY) back. On Monday 29th April 2013, i was given notice that there would be pest control being done for that well in advance which is out of their usual behavior. So i had previously prearranged plans to leave for a few days because what ever chemical they put down causes me to itch and also they say you should not be in the room for 4-24 hours. So after Pest control came to my apartment I left. Video cameras will show that I sat in the lobby for over 2 hours waiting on my ride and did not come back until Thursday May 2nd Morning. When I returned to my apartment it was in disarray, there was no notice on my door, it smelled like a toilet. as i walked in i tripped, the reason was because the wooden tiles i left in place were now jutting up or were simply off the ground. I later came to hear 2 stories about what happened. The first was that there was an ongoing leak from the 23rd floor down to my floor that resulted in damage to my property. the second story after i asked about compensation for loss of my clothing, speakers, laptop,and furniture was that there was an issue in my bathroom that the toilet piping suddenly burst after not being used for an entire day that resulted in it flooding my apartment. Now due to all the flooring and tiles being up i attempted to clean my apartment but as it stands its not livable. I almost fell multiple times, have splinters stuck in my foot, my eyes, nose, lips throat and skin is burning and itching me from so chemical and the apartment just smells like a toilet for $835, I expected better treatment and now that I am saying,that due to the these living conditions and no one has even attempted to move me into another apartment or get a cleaning company or anything to address these issues I am having. I told them I am moving out immediately and I am also refusing to pay rent because I can not live there at the moment. My advice STAY AWAY FROM ANY PROPERTY OWNED OR RUN BY METCAP, THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AS WELL AS THEIR LACK OF CARE AND CONSIDERATION FOR THEIR RENTERS LIFE AND WELLBEING is what makes me say that they are slumlords, the living conditions versus the amount of money in rent you are expected to pay is cruel and unusual.

You are right as I am going through nothing but bullshit with these assholes,the place stinks,bugs everywhere and 5 months after I moved in I still had dishwaser water coming up through my sink,these people that run MetCap are nothing more then SLUM LORDS
