Store Credit Policy
I applied for credit and was approved at first with a co-signer and then a few months later received credit on my own. I had two 36 month pay-offs which was completed. In the mean time a had a bad credit report on my credit score, which had nothing to do with Teppermans. I was refused future credit from both The store and Bargain Annex, which states no credit, past credit problems and all the other signs in the store.

Dear CityDude,
Thanks for your feedback. Without additional details its hard for me to say exactly why we'd been able to extend you credit in the past but not at the time of your most recent application.
Our goal isn't to turn people down for credit. One of the great advantages of dealing with Tepperman's is that when it comes to credit, you're dealing with our people and our money. When another business might simply say 'No", our team will work hard to give you as many options as possible where we can in fact say 'Yes"!
If you'd like for us to review the most recent credit decision again, it would be my pleasure to make that happen. I can't guarantee a specific outcome, but I can promise you a full review.
I've provided my email address below. Please send me an email (referencing this discussion) with your full contact information (name, address, phone number, etc.) so that we'll be able to find your information in our database.
Thanks for reaching out, and for being a Tepperman's customer.
Sincerely,
Noah Tepperman

I was never offer any other options other than to clear the bad debt that I had on my credit file. The only option that I got was to clear it up and then show proof that it was taken care of. How is your company any different from any other as far as credit options? I know that one bad credit mark can get me denied from anyone, your tricks in twisting what you advertise just is not right. How can a person " Need to establish or re-establish your credit? Difficulty getting credit elsewhere? No Credit? New Credit? Previous Bankruptcy? Use us to establish your credit!" if they have to have a clear credit in the first place? I am not asking for any more credit from your company, I would no longer shop there. I do think that if you can not do what you advertise then you should change it.
Your answer was:
Hi Ken,
You don’t have to have a ‘clear’ credit. If you show a record of late payments, for example, that doesn’t necessarily mean we won’t extend credit to you. If you have an item that is showing unpaid & outstanding (i.e., something in collections, a payment that’s in serious arrears, etc.), then that’s a different story. If you have a bad debt on file, that would need to be cleared up and verified before we can extend additional credit. That doesn’t make us liars or bad people- just responsible lenders.
As far as what makes us different from other places, there’s a lot more to it than that and I’ve tried to answer that question for you. If we couldn’t do what we advertised, then you’re right- we should change it. That’s why we don’t say that we’ll give people credit under any circumstances, no matter what... because that’s not something that we, or anyone else, could ever offer. The fact of the matter is, we do exactly what we advertise, multiple times a day, every day.
As far as we’re concerned, we will continue to leave the door open for you. It would be our real pleasure to help you through this.
Sincerely,
Noah Tepperman
Of course that would be your answer but I would still need a clear up that one bad debt on my credit file before this company would extent credit. That is your " Need to establish or re-establish your credit? Difficulty getting credit elsewhere? No Credit? New Credit? Previous Bankruptcy? Use us to establish your credit!"
