Poor quality & service
I had a very minor collision in which I was not at fault. The first tow truck on the scene was from Kang Auto Body Shop. The driver hitched my car and told me he was taking it to Kang Auto Body Shop in Brampton. I asked him how long they had been in business and he told me 10 years. I believed him.
I got a call 10 days later from my insurance company asking if I had authorized the shop to put aftermarket parts on my car, as the appraisor noted the parts being used for my vehicle were NOT OEM Nissan parts. I immediately told them NO and went to the shop right away to see that my car was in a paint booth already being painted. I tried to speak to the owner but to no avail. I told them I did not authorize them to use non Nissan parts and the insurance company told me that they had. Either he didn't understand me or he didn't care but he said "the car will be ready in 3 days".!?!?!
I called the insurance company and told them I was not happy with the service and quality of this shop. They told me they would not pay the shop until I felt my car was in good working order.
I received the car back and it looked fine so I authorized my company to pay the shop according to the parts they had used and not for original parts. I was pleased that the shop had to take a pay-cut as a result of this.
Later I discovered that the tow truck driver for this shop had also lied to me and this shop has only been in business for approximately 2 years.
Now 6 months later, the inferior repair job that was done to my car is starting to show. The paint job looks ridiculous. There are chips forming in the new paint they applied. Beneath it you can tell that the bumper used is non-OEM as it is a completely different colour!
I do not support this business at all. Please make sure you let your insurance company know that you want original parts from this shop or have them tow your car elsewhere. I feel betrayed and lied to as a customer.
I know my car isn't worth much, but I expected to be treated the same as any other customer who broguht in an expensive vehicle for repair, but I wasn't.
Think twice before you deal with this body shop, there are way better body shops out there!
