5 Years ago, I went to a wedding at the Grand Olympia. It was there I decided that if I was to ever get married that would be the place.
That day was September 16th. I was very excited, and from the moment we went in to see the sites we were blown away. The professionalism of the Grand Olympia was certainly top notch.
I was treated like royalty for the whole tour, and when we locked in our date to book it was seamless.
Suzanne was very patient with me, and every single question I had. Not only answering them swiftly, but also reassuring me I wasn't a Groomzilla.
The day of the wedding was incredible. I was able to sit back, and relax while the extremely professional staff was running around making sure that me and my wife were not only satisfied by blown away.
I had even forgotten to select music for the signing of the license, but they had not only let me know but had it covered just in case.
The food was delicious, everyone complained about how stuffed there belly was. Which worked our perfect for our Dj, who's song choices not only fit in perfectly with what we had wanted, but gave everyone a nice cardio routine dancing away.
The bar service was also incredible, a constant gathering at the front of it due to just how amazing the drinks were.
Thank you to the Grand Olympia for making my dream wedding just that.

I had my wedding here in June 2016 and let me tell you when there motto is to make "wedding wishes come true" they really do mean it!
The assistance they provided in preparing me for my big day was out of this world. The way that Suzanne worked so hard to accommodate all of my requests was insane. She is fabulous, the type of person that when it is all over...you want to be her friend because she is THAT AMAZING!
My wedding day was absolutely spectacular, I was blown away when I first saw the hall decor, the center pieces were beautiful, the head table was fabulous and back drop was honestly to die for! Other halls would have charged my life savings to get what I got here at Grand Olympia!
The food was delicious. Starting from the antipasto table right to the midnight buffet. It was hot, tasty and not bland like other wedding food I have had in the past. In fact, I enjoyed the food so much I plan on getting take out from there.....I got two words for you: MUSHROOM RISOTTO!
I went to other halls to see what I could get for bar service and I have to say that the Grand Olympia has the best variety out there with the greatest value.
Our DJ, Daniel was so accommodating, we had music from all different languages and wanted some regular music too and he bent over backwards to look out for us and ensure we got what we wanted. Daniel was awesome!
Finally, saving the best for last...the service. OMG! I have never seen so many people fret after me and my husband before ever! I truly felt like a princess and it's exactly what you would want on your wedding day, everyone and I mean every single person there, from the supervisor to the servers and bartenders, all were absolutely fantastic. Guests are STILL coming up to me and commenting on how great the service was at the Grand Olympia. This was the greatest service I have ever had IN MY LIFE! I am not kidding you, I have never seen anything like it before....I think the Queen would be jealous that is how awesome it is!
If you want a wonderful wedding for great value and for your guests to eat well, drink, dance and be merry, than the Grand Olympia is for you!

I just wanted to share with you the amazing experience I had yesterday at my bridal shower!!!! The day was so amazing and all of the staff and waiters were just spectacular! I was blown away at all of their willingness to help and do anything we asked. Especially Zade (I am not sure if that is how it is spelt) . As I waked into the shower and greeted a few guests he came right over to me and introduced himself and told me that if I needed anything to ask him and he would deliver and this is exactly what he did and more! He is truly a wonderful gem and a highly valuable piece of staff at the Grand Olympia!!!!!! He ensured I was having a great time and checked in with me many times. He even ensured the leftover cake was wrapped and safely taken home. He helped us pack up the cars with the extra trays of cookies and bags which I thought went above and beyond!! I know that the day was such a success because of him. I am so excited to have our wedding at the Grand Olympia. I also want to thank the cooking staff the food was amazing and was very HOT and tended to by the staff constantly. The food remained out more than long enough and all of our guests said how beautiful the hall looked and the staff treated them. This was truly a special day that was amazing just because of all of the staff . I cannot thank them all enough.

Just amazing

Not sure about the most recent posts but if you have $400 shoes maybe pay attention to where they are?!

Had our wedding here in 2012, was awesome!

They hit all the heads on the nail, dotted the T's and crossed the I's as they say in Rome.

Still being told to the day that we had the best wedding ever, but maybe that was based on our amazing guest list, either way I had a great time and as the Groom isn't that all that matters, I dreamed about it my whole life...

In all seriousness, great service, great staff, brought our own cake, centre pieces, and gift box.

Shots at the door were a huge hit, even with people that hate shots, and everything fell into place.

Excellent value for a wedding venue!

Your expensive things will disappear and you will be insulted by their staff, including their senior management:

I attended a symposium at Grand Olympia and took an extra pair of shoes which I left under our exhibitor table along with my short fall black jacket. When I returned from the event, I have realized that I have left behind both the shoes and the jacket.

As we were one of the last leaving that room that day and we saw cleaners stepping in, I was pretty sure that my things will be left in their lost and found. To make things even more difficult, the Peter Keiser shoes are not only expensive but the last gift I received from my father, now deceased.

And here is where the hell starts:
On a first call to follow up, the receptionists tell me that there is no such things as Lost and Found and if anything is found that they discard it. I asked for them to look for it and left my phone number but when hours later nobody got back to me, I called back, just to be told that staff has left for a day and to call tomorrow. Again, I have asked them to look and get back and again nobody got back to me.

Calling them a day later did not get me further ahead and the call again did not get returned. I called back again (this is the 4th call now) and asked for a Facility Manager. They put me on hold for 25 minutes and ‘Eric’ did not pick up the phone. I called back and asked to speak to a General Manager and I was connected to Taylor, who is very abusive. Basically he told me the things were not found, and it is not them! Huh? Really dude, it is as simple as drawing a point from A to B.
I have asked him to review a security tape and get back to me. Taylor did get back to me where I learned that he is not a general manager but Food and Beverage manager and now there was ‘nothing under our table’. That actually is a ridiculous statement as it was there when we left and ONLY THEIR STAFF WAS CLEANING THE TABLES. Ok, I get it he does not want to take the responsibility. I have told him, if needs to be, I will call the police after which the guy hung up on me.

I have asked to speak to a General Manager but I am not holding my breath.

So if you want your diseased father’s gift, an expensive $400 pair of ballroom shoes, or worse yet your wedding stuff, pick this facility, or if you do not mind crassness and unprofessionalism of the management. I will for sure remember this for life and do anything in my power to tell people about this horrible experience.

These are the types of a$$holes that leave their trolley carts in the middle of the parking lot. I'm at the wholesale club and watched the lazy bastard leave their cart 20 feet away from the cart corral. It's right there. Instead they'd rather leave it to roll away and hit a car. I would expect the same lazy corner cutting for your event and food.

I was a guest this past weekend at a friends wedding, the food was terrible , Disgusting smell and taste of sauce, a boiled steak and powdered mash potatoes..Bread rolls probably frozen 10 times over, shrimp the size of baby gold fish and the list goes on....They should change the name of the hall to Grand Olympia Air Lines.. Come on guys get it right... You guys charge big bucks and give penny pincher quality food... How about giving less and better quality...Or pay a quality chef instead of having buffet quality food...I guess you guys dont care about your reputation... Anyone who thought that was good food shuld give there head a shake...

I was a guest this past weekend, the food was aweful, over use of garlic powder in the cheese rotoli, dried out steaks, and probably boiled then grilled chicken breast, it was funky tasting. We were served a glass of wine before the meal started, then it dried out. We had to ask for wine, the table next to us went to the bar for it, another table grabbed a bottle from the station because there was a lack of wine service. Something has changed with this place, we had my parents 50th wedding anniversary on A Saturday night in 2009, so it was a real wedding in every way. It was absolutely amazing. This wedding I attended this past weekend was such a disappointment. Felt bad for the bride and groom because it's not a cheap venue.

Thank you to Suzanne for all your help with our wedding day. It was everything we had ever hoped for and more. You somehow gave us everything we could have imagined and more while staying on our budget. You made everything so easy and the day ran so smoothly. I couldn't have planned it without you. You were so helpful with all the decisions, so patient, knowledgeable and kind. We received endless compliments (and actually still are) on the food and the whole day. We had many out of town guests who were all so impressed by the entire event. The staff were very professional and made sure that everything was perfect.

To All the Staff –Chef, Jeff and Team, Waiters, Keith, Ricardo:

Your attention to detail and pride of taste shined. You all made our once in a lifetime event a spectacular memory. You were genuine, attentive gentlemen.

Bartenders –thank-you for doing your job and keeping those in line that needed it!

Chef –the food was hot, full of flavor and moist –unforgettable.

Keith –such a happy face, genuine man you are. Thank-you for running the show and being attentive to all our needs!

Grand Olympia Owners –you should be proud of the people under your hire. If all events went like ours, your venue will climb to number one!

Suzanne –thank you for putting up with our paranoia! You have surpassed our expectations and demands. You were always kind, professional and non judgmental. The wedding was magical and as I walked around mingling between dishes, people were mopping up sauce with bread, the chop bone was shiny, compliments were over flowing. Thanks for putting the wrath of us onto those who prepared for this event. It met all of our hopes and dreams. The Italians ate their words. Thanks!! Word of mouth travels and our family talks a lot! We would recommend your services hands down without hesitation. Thanks for listening and making our dreams come true.

"From the second my fiancé (now husband) and I walked into the Grand Olympia we fell in love with the place! We met with Suzanne (our wedding coordinator) who greeted us with a warm smile. She gave us a tour of the place and then discussed our options. We immediately booked our date and began the wedding planning. Suzanne was helpful throughout the entire process. She was knowledgable of all the details that go into a wedding and was patient with all of the fussy requests that we (mostly me) made.

Throughout the months, we had our food tasting which was organized and very helpful in deciding what our guests would like most. We also had several more visits to finalize details for the day of the wedding.

Keith was very organized and was aware of all of the small details we had requested. He too was patient and very accommodating with all of the requests we had made. This put us at ease knowing that our wedding day was in good hands.
The rehearsal was organized and Keith did an excellent job of making sure everyone knew their positions.

Our wedding day soon approached and WOW! We were blown away. The venue looked amazing! Grand Olympia executed our vision a million times better then we could have ever imagined! Everyone was so friendly and organized and professional. Grand Olympia took care of all of our worries and everyone had an amazing time.

**special thanks to Wayne..he was awesome. SO professional and mature. He was handling everything with ease and left us with zero stress."

I had my wedding at the Grand Olympia in June and thought that it was going to be absolutely amazing because that is what we were promised and is what I experienced years of attending weddings there. However, to our surprise the Grand Olympia failed miserably to keep their promise of providing us with what was agreed on in our contract and their promise of providing us with great service.

To begin, our contract included the limo as well as any gratuities associated with this. The limo driver asked a person in my wedding party for an envelope that apparently was suppose to be given to him and she was actually going to write him a check. Luckily, my husband came to get me before having her write a check and I was absolutely disgusted with the fact that this would actually happen. I had to talk to the limo driver and tell him that it was included in our contract with the Grand Olympia and that we do not have an envelope for him.

Second, food was not up to our standards. Family members told us that their antipasto plate either had no prosciutto or had a half of a piece. Our lasagna was cut into pizza slices, were cold, and the portions were all different, our steaks were also portioned differently and every guest received either a very small portion or a regular sized portion. We agreed to serve the tenderloin wrapped in bacon with a shrimp and scallop skewer and to our surprise they served us cocktail sized shrimp and scallops even though I took out the second meat and side dish in our contract! Also, instead of wrapping the bacon around the meat they carelessly threw it on top. Some tables had no dinner rolls including the head table! The salad was good. Parents of the bride and groom had a terrible server and many guests told us that they had to ask for wine or go to the bar during dinner service because the wine was not left on the tables during dinner and the servers failed to top up the glasses. At 10:00pm the Stella beer and Grappa was apparently all out. We were so disappointed in the fact that guests were coming up to us telling us they were out of Stella and Grappa. However, they were kind enough to substitute with Heineken for the Stella. At the late night table in our contract it stated that there would be Porchetta served however THEY DID NOT SERVE IT. This was an important element at an Italian wedding. Not only were my extended family and friends upset but my immediate family was embarrassed especially since we had so many out of town and out of country guests. Finally, the DJ (also provided by the Grand Olympia) was absolutely horrendous! We were absolutely disgusted and frustrated with his choice in music and attitude towards myself and my husband! My husband and I went out of our way to make a list of songs that all our guests whom we know well, would want to hear! I had guests coming up to me complaining that he would not play their songs because we had to get through the brides list! Only a couple of our songs were played the rest we did not ask for! He played songs that I put on the DO NOT PLAY LIST twice!!!!! After having my own brother come up to me and telling me that the DJ did not have “Sexy Back” by Justin Timberlake (which is modern music) I personally went up to the DJ myself and told him I did not want anymore Italian/folk music being played because the young people are all sitting down. These were his exact words and I quote “I have been doing this along time, I know what I am doing. When I play modern music no one dances.” The only modern music I heard was Nicki Manaj, Avici and Swedish House Mafia. There was no top 40 as per requested. We began the dance portion at 10:00pm. Myself, my husband, my brother, and multiple family members went to talk to the DJ about changing the music. He was completely dismissive and disregarded any suggestions. Half of our young crowd either stayed at the bar or left at 11:00pm. This was not something a bride should have experienced on her wedding day. Having multiple guests complaining about the music and having the DJ disregard my wants was very frustrating.

We are dishearten and defeated by such unprofessional and poor service on such an important day. This is not how I wanted to remember my wedding. I have continuously tried contacting the Grand Olympia since my wedding to discuss what happened and why we were not provided with what we were promised and I have not received a response from anyone. It has now been 4 weeks since my wedding.

People should be aware that there was a change in ownership for the past year and wish I would have known this prior to booking such an important event with the Grand Olympia because I would not have booked under the new management considering I did not know what kind of service they would provide, which after my experience is definitely not good.

My son and his fiance picked this venue as they wanted to get married outdoors and were promised pictures in the garden, that did not happen. Their wedding was at 3 and the Olympia booked another wedding at 4 so we couldn't get pictures in the gardens as promised. The guest for the next wedding were arriving before ours was over it was ridiculous and unexceptable. When you promise a bride and groom and outdoor wedding with lots of time for pictures in the garden and you totally broke that promise. That is terrible. There was supposed to be someone telling us where to be and when to be there and that was a joke. My granddaughter was in the wedding party and they wouldn't even help us find the bride, the one guy helping said she could stay with him when my son and I had to leave to walk down the aisle, sorry but I wasn't about to leave her with a stranger. Luckily the girls lined up just down stairs from us and I saw the mother of the bride and could leave my granddaughter and not worry. They did not get the soup that they ordered with the meal. They did not get the bow tie pasta as the ordered. The food at the food tasting tasted better in my opinion. They never announced anything about pictures or where guest were supposed to go to put in the hour and a half since they could not go in the hall. They rushed the bridal party into the bridal suite but ignored the grooms parents all together so we didn't know where they were or what was happening with pictures. They kept them hostage in the bridal suite because the next wedding was starting. They were taking pictures out front they just had to go out the other doors can you not think outside the box or what?! Because of the delays and the grooms family being ignored we didn't get hardly any pictures of the grooms side and because it was so rushed there was people not in certain pictures because there was no time to organize and as I mentioned the grooms parents were just totally shafted. The room is supposed to hold 150 yeah if you like being like a sardine that is how it felt! I would never suggest to anyone I know getting married to go here. They say it's your day we treat you like royalty no they don't you are just another event, another pay cheque, another day that's all!

Had my wedding few days ago. The ceremony was beautiful outside and the officiant did an awesome job. They screwed up our groom and bride's signature drinks. Servers were friendly and attentive but the little details the olympia was to do totally disregarded after planning and going several times telling them what we wanted. They wrote down how we wanted the flowers done and totally screwed them up!! Nothing more shocking is walking in the reception and seeing if this was your room because of seeing the centerpieces totally wrong! Uplighting was suppose to be 7 but got 5. Ice sculpture was taking away because they broke the other bridal party's next door so they had to take mine!!! Did not serve the wedding cakes so my mom had to have them boxed and taken home. The centerpieces were not given away. When doing a video presentation we rented their projector and no one had no clue how to get it to work. To top it off, a wrong guest from another wedding beside us put their money envelope in our moneybox, so it got ripped open so they can get their card back destroying my money box my mom made beautifully for us, this was totally unacceptable. I would not recommend any bride to go through this.

I recently was married at the grand olympia. The meetings and everything leading up to my special day went great. The day of the overall look was even more beautiful than I expected. Unfortunately the service wasn't anything at all like I expected. There was a few problems and when I spoke to the supervisor he said it would be solved I was ignored. I had to ask for my drinks numerous times and I was the bride, which they make you think that you will be treated like royalty when in fact you aren't. I spent a lot of time and money for this day to be perfect and it was very hurtful to see them ignore me. All the waiters were young and kept spilling drinks on my guests. I paid a lot of money for the piano player and the wedding beside mine got to enjoy it because they had their doors open closer to the piano as oppose to mine who paid for it. The day after my wedding when I went to pick up my things I spoke to someone in charge and they said they would figure it out for me and never got back to me. I emailed my wedding planner twice to express how I felt and have still not heard back, not even an apology. You would think they would at least have enough decency to reply. I just wanted the olympia to know my concerns so maybe they could fix some things so other brides don't have to feel like I how felt on my special day. It's such a shame that such a beautiful place isn't all it looks to be.

Friday evening, (last night) my husband and I had the privilege to attend a wedding reception at The Grand Olympia. It was to honour Richard and Cheryl Kerr. We are very impressed! We expected a grand event and were not disappointed. In fact we were amazed. the decor, the food, everything top notch. We have traveled many places, ate lots of good food, drank many a good drink, but rate your venue the best so far. I would like to say that we were most impressed with Nolan and Jason.
They made us feel like royalty! If I am ever planning an event, I would want my guests to have the experience that we did. Please convey our thanks again to Nolan and Jason for making our evening very special.

Our son Brendan married Sarah on Friday, July 29th, 2011 at this luxurious resort. We felt like we had flown to another island since the day was so spectacular. Being our first child to get married, it was a new experience but with their guidance and expertise it was a dream come true. The weather was perfect, we had the whole place to ourselves and it was a magical day. We are coming back down to earth and Brendan and Sarah are on their Honeymoon now, so we find it fitting to comment on the amazing service we received. They looked after every detail so we could enjoy the day stress free. The excellent, professional service given by the good looking, polite gentlemen in white gloves made us feel like we were at the royal wedding. It was better than the royal wedding because we are ordinary people making memories. As parents of the groom we were so pleased with how well we were cared for the entire day. The food was outstanding in quality, presentation and quantity. No one left hungry or feeling unsatisfied with their meal. We have spoken with many of the guests and there has not been one negative comment about the day. We are constantly reminiscing about July, 29th and we can only say WOW, did that
really happen? We will be their walking commercial and spread the word that
Grand Olympia is the only place to have a wedding. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

On Friday, March 11th, 2011 I had occasion to attend my son`s wedding reception at the Olympia on Barton Street. I have been to functions at both locations. The Olympia is known for its service, but I have to tell you, the service we received (being directly involved) far surpassed our expectations.

Your staff must be commended what a wonderful group. In particular I need to mention TYLER RAYNHAM. He is a great asset to your organization. His people skills, and his attention to detail were outstanding. The waiters were very friendly, professional and the service was impeccable. ZAID ´was serving my table and he was very accommodating. The bartender, Lloyd was professional and quick.

Your staff helped make the reception a huge success. I commend them and your organization.

I just wanted to say thank you very much for a great job well done the hall was just beautiful and the food was extremely good. All the guest enjoyed themselves very much. Dan’s Aunt and Uncle said they have been too many weddings and this one by far had the best food. It was a great wedding and it was everything I could have asked for. Kashawn was so sweet and so helpful. I had him running around the whole time. So thank you for everything you’ve done for us. You made it very memorable and I just loved everything about it!
