U-Haul Co Ltd

Firstly, I'd like to say I understand that mishaps can happen, it's apart of life. However, you can control how you deal with it.

I had booked a U-HAUL to move from Kentville to Halifax, NS for July 29th pick up around 9 am. I received a call at 4:00 from U-HAUL'S head office today saying that our U-Haul has been canceled and they cannot schedule until Tuesday.

Firstly, I was not told why, I was not apologized to for any inconvenience I may be put through & I was a little upset that they would cancel on such short notice. Plus, my family and I have nowheres to stay, except into the home we're moving into, and have our furniture in storage which is costing us, as well.

I called the local U-Haul in Kentville, and asked the woman who had answered if there was anything they could do for me as I really needed a truck for tomorrow. The woman was very rude and pretty much said I must not have listened to the previous phone call because head office should've explained everything. I said that she may have but I didn't think so as I was in a meeting and told the lady from head offie that I'd call to discuss further at a more convenient time. The woman from Kentille drug out a sigh and pretty much said tough luck, nothing I can do for you. I asked her to speak in a nicer manner, and she stated she wasn't being rude and didn't care if I thought she was being rude. She said it wasn't her problem and it's the U-HAUL's decision themselves anyway, not the local stores decision as to who gets canceled, so she didn't know why I bothered to call up and waste her time.

Seriously, U-Haul ... Train your employees better as to how to handle calls such as this one, because I will NEVER rent from U-HAUL again because of the way I was treated when I just wanted some answers.

Anyone reading this, Penske in Halifax is trying to get me a rental truck for tomorrow, they're calling around and seeing what they can do. They think they have one coming in tomorrow morning, and they'll call me as soon as they can find something for me.

It may not be the most horrible thing done, but as a customer I would like a little respect.

SO, no respect = you losing a customer.
