Mister Transmission

I brought my vehicle in because I noticed a slight hesitation when shifting, and I felt like the transmission fluid might be low. There is no dipstick under the hood so the only way to check it is when the vehicle is up on the hoist. I didn't stay during the inspection, but I returned 30 min later and was told everything was fine with the transmission and the fluid level was good. The code that came up on the diagnostics was for an engine issue. A week later the hesitation was getting worse, so I went to my mechanic to have the engine trouble assessed. He found a leak in one of my transmission lines that he felt had been there for some time, and when he fixed it there was almost no fluid left. I commute over an hour to work, and I believe driving that distance with very little transmission fluid has done permanent damage. There is still a hesitation when shifting even after having the line fixed and fluid topped up. So clearly the inspection at Mr. Transmission was not done as it was described to me. If my vehicle had been up on the hoist I'm sure the leak and low fluid would have been noticed. I very specifically asked if the fluid was checked and the answer was yes! I was also told the fluid colour indicated that my transmission needed servicing soon...at a cost of over $200! Please be careful if you decide to go to this location, and watch the work that is being done because you can't take their word for it! Very dissatisfied with my experience to say the least!

I bought a 2002 Grand Prix GTP due to being ripped off by AAMCO transmission in kitchener last November, I had a actual transmission issue with this car and being very scared to take it to a transmission shop decided after much self-pushing that I would take it to Mr. Transmission on westmount. It was the best choice I have made with my car. Mike was amazingly informative and offered me the most cost effective soloution that he could. My transmission was shot, and after a being told by other places before I took it there that a rebuild would be over $2000, but Mike suggested a used transmission with a 1 year parts and labour warranty, and installed it all under $1200. He also had my car towed to the garage for no cost to me. He had the whole job done the same day, it was amazing. His techs checked the replacement transmission to make sure that it was in great condition before installing it which was the extra mile that I never expected. He also provided my mother in-law a ride to work because she lived in the same city as him which was a major customer service bonus. The customer service and commitment to customers was the best I have ever seen, and I would and do recommend Mike and Mr Transmission on Westmount Rd in Kitchener to anyone who has transmission issues if you want a honest opinion and honest suggestions for the most cost effective way to fix the problem. As well as customer service thats outta this world, then trust Mike, this is coming from a customer who was ripped off and lost a 2002 Impala to AAMCO after an apparent $6000 that was never authorized and was scarred for life. Mike and Mr Transmission have restored my faith and helped heal my wounds from AAMCO.
