Chaussures Felix Brown

Unlike the above review I found service very good NOT to pushy. Love the selection of Italian boots I bought two pairs and my friends also enjoyed the shopping experince and purchased boots, shoes and purses you will not find this stuff on the west coast. The boots are of excellent quality and comfort.

St Catherine street fair again this summer... yay... been to this 'annual shopping party' 6 times in a row. Today, as before, found a great deal, but first time at Felix Brown. The shoes are great, my style, I love it, but quite pricey.

Yet this year there's 10$ special deal for pairs on the street only. I took 5 pairs and was very happy. But when at the cashier, it was a little longer, as the lady couldn't match one of the shoes (found left side's brown, right was dark blue). OK, then I took the other 4.


When paying, I asked how much (even knew it, 10$ x 4 = 40$). The lady replied short, "40". I asked again, "can I use my credit card?". She said "yes". But then I was charged 40$ plus tax. I asked why it was 45 something, the lady replied, "mmh... with tax". It doesn't matter, I'm okay paying tax. The point is I asked before paying, she said 40, but then I was overcharged. In addition, I was waiting in the area very close to the cashier and knew everybody else was paying 10$ no tax.

Arguing about the extras and customers who paid no tax before, she then said, because I paid by credit card. I replied, "I could have paid by cash if you mentioned it. I am not here for 5 minutes, I heard and saw what others are paying". The attitude was rude and more lies. The other cashier replied, "It's Quebec here and everyone have to pay tax. This lady is my friend, so she's an exception" (who was paying next to me, was charged no tax, like others before me).

I was still very calm and polite, just hoping to get a good explanation and solution. If only the first lady said sorry, it's my fault, I didn't tell you or I forgot to mention... that's very okay. I will accept it and I'd be glad to just sign and go. But the condition was very negative, they said out loud, really made me feel cornered and fooled, as if it's all my fault and that I am not willing to pay tax.

Did she think I just arrived and live in Canada yesterday? Not saying been overcharged 5$, even 50 cents extra, I have the right to know what I am paying for, why I was overcharged. I am the customer, I am paying for what I want to buy with the price I agree with. I'm not one of the riches, only a non-working 2 kids' mom, still I am a customer. Can't even compare to other store's cashiers, like the Bay, Aldo, etc, which mostly are younger with much better attitude (to me maybe still a student but great service, giving more satisfaction)

She even said, "I can't return your money which is charged and you can't pay cash. It's all done. I don't want to argue with you for 10$ items". To my understanding, she doesn't want to do business with me. She till the end did not showing a good will, not even feeling sorry, but for sure losing customer! She asked if I want it or not. I decided not to purchase them. I just asked to get my money back, left the store without the lovely shoes. So bad, I love the shoes, but for the kind of attitude... sorry, just forget it!
