Ruffin's Pet Centre

I've been shopping here for a long time, I like going in to see what new products they have they have new stuff all the time and the staff are really nice.

Discovered this place over Xmas. Will go back.

I went in after receiving their flyer. Great selection, friendly staff who know their products very well. A little tricky to find though.

I've been going to Ruffin's in Hamilton for many years. The staff know me by name, know my animals and that's all I need to keep coming back.

I didn't know about this place until it was recommended by a friend of mine. I went in to book a grooming appointment and I was really surprised that they have everything. I was able to buy reptile supplies, fish food pretty much everything. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Impressed.

Poor selection of products from foods to leashes, and staff don't know or won't say where the animals for sale come from. It is cheap and clean, however.

decided to get some guppies from ruffins, we asked for 1 male and three females. got them home turns out they were three males and one female. the dominant male killed the two other males and the female died three days later from what I think is ammonia burn, but the ammonia levels in my tank are nil so she must have been suffering from the state of the tank water at ruffins. informed the staff of their mistake, they denied it.

Ruffin's on Main Street East in Hamilton is great for pet owners on a budget. Their prices are very reasonable and the store is immaculately clean. No products on the shelves were past their sell-by dates. The stock is very standard -- no exotics. Some animals were clearly stressed. The staff are polite and give good advice, but they discourage browsing. The manager offered to put together a discount package for us. Ruffins tolerates kids and dogs in the store. The store mascot is a very temperamental cat that lounges by the front door and does not enjoy strange people. Worth visiting! Rates 4/5.
