I made what I considered a major purchase ($249 + tx) at the Pointe-Claire location on Dec. 5th as a present. The sales person was courteous, knowledgeable, and very informative. So much so that when I pulled out my pre-authorized checks he told me that the store only accepted checks from a particular institution. Fine. I proceeded to pay with my credit card. Everything was fine until after the transaction was completed. Only then did this knowledgeable person inform me that the store has a NO REFUND policy; exchanges or store credit, but no refund. Disappointed, furious, and disgruntled I tried to argue (calmly)by telling them they should have visible signs throughout the stores fore warning consumers of this . Not at point of purchase where it is too late. Imagine in a culture where returns are paramount, this NON REFUND policy was not posted, communicated anywhere in the store until after the fact! I did return the goods because an upgrade product was way cheaper elsewhere. But my fury and anger at this deceitful practice remains.
