If you want your pool leak fixed professionally do not use this company. Not only are their business and billing practices very sketchy, they are rude and aggressive when questioned about the costs and about leaks that have not been fixed.

It all started in June 2017, our pool was loosing about 200 gallons of water over night, we checked all the basic nothing was found, we started digging for the plumbing from the pump to the pool, me disabled with multiple sclerosis lying down and digging with a small garden shovel, my friend who is 71 years old, my wife, my son, my daughter even my parent in law who are 84 years old dug and dud again, then we stopped and call Canadian Leak Detection, the first thing he said is what is your credit card number, on July 19 they show up with the equipment, he found two leaks, $750.00 per repair, i gave the go ahead thinking that the problem would be history. after those leak were fixed on July 29, well still loosing 200 gallons overnight. i called back he came and in a very rude manner he told me ' you did not patch the pin hole in the lining' like if a pin hole would leak that much, no matter i jump in the freezing cold water and put a patch, it did not change nothing, thereafter i received their invoice which read pressure test return line other leak need to be located, i call them left messages again and again, then ask my daughter to call, they said that i was rude and threatening, sure their is not an once of madness in me and for the threatening part, sure i am disabled i can fight anyone, anyhow on that they refuse to come back to finish their job for which i was billed close to $ 2,300.00, so we started digging again and stop in the fall, we started digging again in may 2018, we found the leak under the concrete slab and fixed it, now i am in the process to bring them to small court claim and believe me i ' ll ask the judge for punitive damage, i need the pool it is the only way i can exercise my legs not to paralyzed.
So what should be my rating ?

Very disappointed with this company there staff owner and sons.
Very disappointed with time wasted and there promises unkept.

Deplorable customer service. Was emailed a month ago to please follow up on a service call dating back to July 2016. Left a voicemail. No response. Left another voicemail. No response. Sent an email. No response.

So the bottom line is, they don't like it when you post a bad review for a service that was "guaranteed to find the leak", but never did. They pretend to be interested in fixing the problem, but no one wants to follow up with a phone call or email.

Don't waste your money on CLD. Find a reputable leak detection company that stands by its work.

Just had Canadian Leak Detection come out for a leak in a brand new pool. This leak has been happening since beginning of May and the pool company couldn't figure it out. Losing around 2" daily it became very frustrating and costly . This company sent out two guys that were very polite and punctual and they found two places where the pool was leaking in less than forty minutes. I may actually be able to sleep tonight.

I booked and appointment with these guys, gave them my credit card number, and they never showed up. I called and finally got a hold of someone about what happened because i took the day off. Spoke to the owner and he was being really rude. They were asking for another credit card number, said they had rescheduled me for weeks later. Then they said maybe they can come today, all I asked was for them to call me to confirm about today and the owner said I was being hard to deal with. Would not recommend to anyone.

I paid Canadian Leak Detection to come and find a leak in my pool in 2014. I was loosing about 0.2" per day. You have to pay up front or they won’t schedule the appointment. They came and told me I did not have a leak. I then used the water from the pool sump to water my plants and the tomatoes died. I then had my sump water tested for salt content, and found it to be 1.9 vs. the 3.9 of my pool (I have a salt water pool). Highly indicative of the leak.

I called Canadian Leak Detection again and they came back again (at no additional charge) and then spent more time and then suggested that there may be a leak at one of my light housings. They did not attempt to repair the leak and they were not definitive about the presence of the leak there. This was in late August 2014, and the technician advised me that I should have the pool company blank off all my lights in the spring, before filling the pool, and then Canadian leak detection would come back at no charge if the pool was still leaking. I called the original pool installation company to blank off the light housings. When they came to do the work, they asked me why didn't Canadian Leak detection repair the leak when they found it? I had no answer to that. I then refilled my pool and measured the level. The leakage rate was unchanged. I still had a leak. I then called Canadian Leak detection back expecting a no charge visit (as promised), and was dismayed to discover that they wanted my credit card again to charge me for another visit. I explained that the technician had promised a repeat visit at no charge, and was asked by Canadian Leak detection if I had that promise in writing! Also Canadian Leak detection said that the leak I had in the spring might be a new leak that occurred over the winter. I was really pissed off. The pool was properly winterised and all lines blown out and I also take the extra step of filling all my lines with antifreeze. The leak rate in the spring was the same as I measured last winter. It is not credible, in my opinion, to assume that the leaks are different. I said why would I give them more money when firstly they couldn't find the leak, and secondly, they didn't honour their guarantee? It would just be throwing good money after bad. I advised them that I would go to another company instead. I contacted Reed Pools at (905) 727-1242 and they came to my pool and found the leak (it was in the light housing) and they actually repaired the leak and then retested it to confirm that the leak was repaired.

To give t Canadian Leak Detection credit - they did come back a second time. But they should have attempted to repair the leak (Reed Pool applied some epoxy sealant around my light fixture).

Go straight to Reed Pool instead. They find the leaks and repair them too. They charge you AFTER they have found the leak.

Were unable to locate the leak, pool continue to lose water. Claimed they would return at no charge if we continue to lose water - instead wanted to charge the full service amount. Accused me of lying, hung up on me instead of trying to resolve the issue . Whatever happened to Customer Service - obviously it does not exist for this company.
