Service Experts - Ottawa

Had A/C leak repaired in 2006. June 2007 did not work, called the Service Experts for warrantee, I was 3 days over the 1 year and they would not honor. Service tech said a leak has to be repaired, or unit replaced! I called a tech out of the Penny Saver at the time, he came out and fixed it! *years working now!!

Totally agree. They claim to be locally-operated Francis Home Environment in Ottawa/Nepean but in fact are owned by Service Experts, part of the American Lennox International conglomerate out of Richardson, Texas. We got phone calls, we got mail marked “Important” and “Urgent” (with a US stamp and postmark) for a “Precision Tune Up” and we got information on their “Ultimate Upgrade Event”. So we booked the next scheduled maintenance on our fully functioning furnace for January 2013. Guess what? They said there was a crack in the heat exchanger (after fishing around trying to show a video of it), condemned the furnace immediately and happily shut off the gas in the middle of an Ottawa winter. They said we could buy a new one from them or “shop around” for a new furnace from another company. Yes, we could but not in the January cold as they well knew when sending out all those service notices. Sleazy. And all BBB complaints are sent directly to Texas so Ottawa locals don’t find out about their complaint history.

What a horrible company! Don't get me wrong, their service is excellent. I requested an annual service on my furnace. Great job. Very professional. However, my opinion change once I received many phone calls per week "reminding" me for a furnace service. I told them many times I am not interested. Yet they still call. I asked to be removed from their calling list. I still receive calls. It's very annoying. They don't care! I mentioned to the service rep I don't want any more phones call. Yet they still call. Their manager, Tina Simmions, assured me "no more phones calls", but still they come! They behave just like a telemarketing company! They've lost my business for forever! Be warned!
