I began my saltwater adventure about 4 years ago. I started with a little tank I bought off of kijiji and have since moved up to one that takes up a great deal of my kitchen. The guys at Big Al's have guided me through all of it - even a Sunday late night tank emergency. Patience and expertise is what you want when you start in this hobby and everyone at Al's has that in spades. When I first started buying saltwater fish, I tried the other suppliers and was ALWAYS disappointed. Now, I don't go anywhere else!! Definitely the best people to deal with!

Knowledgable staff always find what we need whether it's for our birds, fish or dogs. They always go that extra mile in customer service.

My family loves this store so so much. Everyone is very personable and helpful. Chris has been helping us set up our salt water tank from day one and this thing is amazing. We haven't had any issues with any of his recommendations or other advice. Casey at the till is also incredible. The staff has taken the time to know us and we are on a first name basis with almost all of them and it is an incredible feeling. Love love love this place.

Big Al's is always my number one choice for aquarium equipment and supplies. Brandon and the staff are extremely knowledgeable and always take the time to answer my many questions. They know me by name and someone is always there to greet me at the door. This is a store that really backs their products. I've purchased a lot of equipment at Big Al's, and on occasion have had a product fail within the warranty period. Big Al's has always replaced or given me credit for the product with no questions asked. I've shopped around most of the aquarium shops around Calgary, but Big Al's for me, is always my top choice.

Super freindly. Always willing to answer any and all questions. Very nice store. If you are looking to buy fish weather it's fresh or salt water fish, this is the place to go.
