Tre Mari Bakery is one of those timeless Toronto spots that never disappoints. The space itself is adorable — warm, lively, and full of that old-school Italian charm. They have everything: freshly baked bread, deli meats, hot food, pastries, and of course, the cannoli.
I ordered the cannoli party box and loved how varied and well-balanced the flavours were. The vanilla was silky and custard-like, the hazelnut and pistachio were rich and nutty, and the classic ricotta was light and not overly sweet — just perfect.
The staff were super friendly and helpful, and you can tell the bakery takes pride in its quality and tradition. It’s a great spot to grab lunch, pick up some treats for home, or order a box for a gathering. Definitely one of my favourite bakeries in Toronto!

I am writing this review in hopes that the owner or manager will see it.
I visited Tre Mari today for the very first time with my husband, as we love trying new places. A friend has recommended this spot many times, and since our go-to is usually Sanremo (about 20 minutes away), we decided to finally give Tre Mari a try after hearing great things about the bakery and food.
Overall, the experience started off well. We ordered from the hot food counter, and the lady serving us there (a slim Black woman with curly-ish hair) was absolutely amazing, patient, kind, and very pleasant to interact with.
Unfortunately, our experience at the cashier and barista station was the complete opposite. I ordered an iced latte with oat milk and politely asked if the honey could be added before the shots so it could melt (how I usually order it elsewhere). The cashier responded very rudely, saying: “We don’t do that. You do it yourself, if you looked behind you, there’s honey.” Her tone was uncalled for and dismissive. I was so caught off guard that I could only reply with an awkward “ok…” while wondering what that interaction was about.
On top of that, the barista did not call out orders once they were ready, she simply placed them on the side and walked away, leaving customers unsure which drink belonged to whom. Both the cashier and barista could greatly benefit from customer service training, as their attitude left a very negative impression and completely ruined my morning. One rude interaction can overshadow all the positives, and unfortunately, that’s what happened today.
That being said, I want to highlight that aside from those two employees, other staff members seemed very kind and attentive, especially towards elderly customers, which was wonderful to see. The food and bakery items were delicious, and the prices were reasonable.
I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously, consistent customer service is just as important as great food, and I believe addressing this issue will only strengthen the restaurant’s reputation.

65 years in business and this is your idea of celebrating loyal customers? Charging $15 for a tote bag just to save $2 on a $40 purchase is not clever, it’s pathetic. You’re treating people who have supported you for decades like walking wallets. The food might be amazing, but this ‘deal’ is embarrassing and greedy. If this is how you show gratitude, maybe it’s time to rethink what loyalty and appreciation actually mean.
This long-establish bakery on St.Clair has been serving locals over 60 years! It’s such a lovely bakery with a great vibe. They’ve got baked goods, sandwiches, daily specials, breads, coffee, and even gelato!
A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful cake department at Tre Mari Bakery for their exceptional work and care. The Strawberry Delight cake was absolutely delicious — the custard cream was perfectly smooth and rich, and the fresh strawberries were sweet, vibrant, and bursting with flavor. It was a joy to meet the owner as well; your warmth and passion for the bakery shine through in every detail. The experience left me feeling truly welcomed and valued. Grateful for the kindness, the quality, and the sense of community you bring with every visit.
I visit Tre Mari at least once a week. There service is impeccable...considering how busy they are. I buy their cannoli's at every visit and have used their catering service several times for family events. The food is always hot, fresh, and delicious.
Tre Mari Bakery in Toronto is a true gem! Their sfogliatella is hands down the best I've ever had—perfectly crisp, flaky, and filled with rich, flavorful goodness. Every treat here is crafted with care, and the pistachio desserts are absolutely divine.
Beyond the incredible pastries, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, thanks to the friendly staff who always greet you with a smile. The customer service is top-notch, making every visit a delightful experience. If you're looking for authentic, high-quality Italian goods, this is the place to be.
Highly recommend stopping by—once you do, you'll keep coming back for more!

I know this bakery has been around for a long time. I've tried and tried to like this bakery but I just cannot recommend it.
As far as food presentation is on point. You can see from the photos the zeppole look great however they don't taste the best based on my testing of several other bakeries.
The prices at the hot food counter have continued to rise and I now find them unreasonable for what you get.
One thing I do like is the Sicilian bread.

went in today and witnessed an employee being yelled at by their superior in front of multiple other customers. unprofessional
I brought out-of-province family to visit and 'show off' your establishment. Four of us at the hot bar to be paid on one bill. My first guest was served and her order brought to the cashier. The rest of us were ignored - our server went to the next in line after us. After quite some time to get attention of another server, the rest of us were finally served, however by that time my first guest's meal was cold. In a manner of politeness, we all waited for the meal to be reheated (not freshly served!) then all of our meals of course cooled off. None of the store's employees seemed concerned or to care. None of the group could enjoy their cold meal. It is an embarrassment to Tre Mari. Your staff needs to smile and be attentive to your visitors.
A delightful place with real Italian flair. The staff spoke Italian and know Italian food. We had breakfast several times: excellent coffee, wonderful cannoli and scrumptious croissants. One of the few places left that have the ambience of a traditional Italian bakery... people who are willing to have conversations with you about local places to visit, superb bake goods that are fresh and wonderfully flavored, and bread that can't be made better than this.
The best bakery that I’ve ever been!
Not only does this bakery offer a wide selection of high-quality products, but their staff also exudes a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Stepping inside feels like being enveloped in a comforting embrace, enhancing the overall experience.
Excepcional Cannolis, Coffee and Deli meats!!
