I have been going to this location in Coquitlam for 4 years, ever since I was informed by a co-worker that the crew in Coquitlam was the best he'd ever met. Each time over the 4 years I've taken my car in, I have always been greeted with smiles and enthusiasm that I appreciate. They always offer coffee, water, a newspaper to read while you wait, which is great to pass the time when they are busy. I went again today and was not disappointed. Alex worked on my car today and he was all smiles and laughing which was great to have, I can't think of any visit that I encountered someone having a bad day or in a bad mood. The Manager Puneet is also on par with his team and it's great to see them work as a whole unit. No complaints here. Keep up the great work crew of Mr. Lube Coquitlam!

hey i have recently moved to Coquitlam from Calgary Alberta i used Mr. lube for years every time i was due for an oil change naturally i stayed with them when i moved to GVRD. I brought in my 2006 jeep liberty the other day i had to wait for about 30 mins but it was well worth it the technician was very informative about what needed to be done and even told me not to bother with the battery if money was an issue because it is still starting my vehicle. The services they did on my jeep were done professionally even taking time to show me the drain plug on my rear differential. I am sticking with Mr.lube on Barnet hwy. for sure.

Took my 2 year old civic for an oil change. I'm ok with the constant sales pitches' and can easily decline. But, the process while I was there was far from professional, they argued, made fun of each other, swore and we're just horsing around. THEN.. Starting a week after my oil change I noticed oil drops in my garage. Tonight I took a look and the transmission plug was 1/2 unscrewed.... My parents used to go there years ago and every time they said the drain plug was stripped and needed replacing. I went there's once in 2009 and my drain plug fell out three blocks away. Do yourself a solid and stay away.

Had gone to this Mr. Lube once before. Despite the hard upsell and left wondering if I really needed half of what they said I did, the service was friendly and quick. Decided to go back, but called first to get a price based on the make and model of my car. Arrived 10 minutes later and told them I had just been quoted a price on the phone. Was told it was actually higher by $20. Not happy about that, but I was there now. Rolled in and was advised of the actual price - now $50. higher. Asked questions about that and got a bunch of lame reasons that didn't explain why the price kept going up while the car was still the same car originally quotes on. Decided I wouldn't get ripped off twice, so rolled out the back door without even opening the hood. Won't go back and will tell everyone I know about this place. I guess there are stupid people out there who let themselves be ripped off, but once bitten.....

Was really happy with the service overall but dont need the upsell. Appreciated the menu that i get given on services but i think thats where the offers should end. Unless theres a special i just want what i came in for. GReat guys though doing a great service quickly.

The young guys were very efficient. But Watch out when they try to upsell. The guy doing my car tried to charge me $50 to replace an interior air filter for my Honda Civic. I got one at Lordco for under $30.

I always used to go to the dealership but this experience was excellent from start to finish. I was given a coffee and a newspaper and was able to remain in my car. I didn't even get a chance to finish my coffee!

The technician explained every step of the process to me. In addition to an oil change I had my air filter changed. I also used this opportunity to replace my windshield wipers. The end result is that I saved time and money.

I was very impressed.

I occasionally visit Mr Lube when in the need of an overdue oilchange. Recent events at this location have left me regretting I visited here. I once requested the ball joints on my Caravan be greased. A few days later when I was changing the brake pads I noticed all the tie rod ends and ball joints had been over filled w/grease and had burst the rubber packing. All had to be replaced. Then I brought my Honda - I know "fool me once..."- and after I declined numerous offers of service work including changing my transmission fluid that I had done recently- the tech even showed me burnt tranny fluid on my dipstick that miraculously disappeared when I checked it later- I arrived home and smelled coolant. Thinking the tech must have spilled some I drove the next day and discovered a pinprick hole in the top of the rad casing that a mechanic indicated may have been deliberately set.
Caution- if you decline the offers of parts replacement and fluid flushing you may be at risk of further damage to your vehicle!

The scare tactics used by the employees of this company to bully you into purchasing an unnecessary part marked up by 400% is just disgusting.
I was taken advantage of because I didn't know any better and I had a screaming toddler in the backseat and just wanted the service to be over.
Just what qualifies these people to do anything to my car other than changing my oil is beyond me and after talking to a mechanic I now know that they are not qualified to do any diagnostics.
We will never take our business to Mr. Lube again.

I went to change the oil in my car. I didn't wait long because it was 10 am on Thursday. Mr. Lube employee entered my car model to the computer and explained to me that I need to change some other oils in my car (transmition oil...) because the colour of the fluid is not good. So I end up paying $310. He told me that because my car is a four weel drive it is more expensive to maintain it.

I don't know if that was all thrue or they do that just to female drivers.
Comment by Bcdude on Sep 30, 2010
They dont do that to female customers. It probably needed the service. Has it had a problem since they did the servicing they recomended? Probably not as they know there shit. a big bill once in a while is part of owning and operating a vechile. And yes it is most costly to do maintenance on a 4x4... More expensive to drive and they have a nice transfer case that needs to be serviced all the time.

The people that work there are so pushy. I got scammed by someone who was so intimidated I didn't even know how to say "no".
To bcdude, only a guy would say women aren't taken advantage far more than men are when it comes to their cars.

nightmare I took my car in one day to get and oil change and a transmission flush. First off they have kids working here and they must work on commission cause the guy helping me persisted that I get a differential, power steering and brake fluid change he offered NO discount and persisted to ask me 3 more times if I wanted the services... NO means NO! To top it all off I started having transmission problems a month later the people working on my car had used the wrong transmission fluid as my car requires mercon V I have never retured to them since
Comment by avaldstyn on Apr 24, 2009
Thats terrible. I hope the transmission problems didn't end up costing you to much.

fortunately I had the fluid changed out as soon as I felt slippage you just gotta have a feel for your vehicle it still slips from time to time tho but is still running strong now at 210,000km!!
Comment by cjay143 on May 24, 2010
to tutt2k first off i think your talking about two different business because mr lube DO NOT do power steering flush and brake fluid flush castrol and jiffy lube does and i think mr lube has better job doing what the dealership does....because mr lube let you see what theyre doing while mr dealership will tell you to come back or let you go to their waiting room for a single oil change they will tell you to come back after a few hours and also they said its 49.99 to do it but you still have to pay for labour
Comment by Bcdude on Sep 30, 2010
Those guys are situated right next to the mrlube. You may have gotten the name of the company wrong. The guys next door are car nazi's. Took my truck in to get the rad fluid professionally flushed and they told me to come back... I checked the fluid after and realised the basterds didnt do anything... Ive been going to that mr lube for years and they always do a great job.

Additional business details

Until the mid-seventies, most oil changes were still being done by service stations and car dealerships. But entrepreneur Cliff Giese of Edmonton, Alberta sensed an opportunity. Cliff invented the 'drive-thru' quick oil change concept and in 1976 opened the first Mr. Lube store in Edmonton. Never before had an oil change and lube been so fast, convenient and affordable. By 1984, Mr. Lube had 45 stores across Canada and had initiated its Canadian Franchise Program. NOW we have 88 stores across Canada providing a full range of vital fluid services and other preventative vehicle maintenance. We're the country's leader in the industry - and still growing.
