Do not deal with this company and do...
I was definitely excited to surprise my boyfriend with a singing Marilyn for his 38th Birthday as a special gift. My initial dealings with Dustin (Manager) were pleasant enough in that he explained exactly what his performers are trained to do and that essentially they are suppose to draw a crowd, have a lot of fun and laughs and personalize their performance to the client’s needs. Dustin was thorough enough and essentially I was pretty pumped to surprise my bf. The big day comes along and the company's number is not in service. I had booked the performance for between 8 30 and 9 pm and was told I would get a call to confirm her arrival. I was panicking a little because I didn’t get a confirmation call until about 8 20 pm. Nonetheless she was there and I was happy about that. When I say don’t hire Marilyn, the reason is this, she didn’t know the words to the songs she chose, she had a squeaky voice, she was shaking with nerves and she was 20 years old. Age certainly isn’t a problem however she had no stage presence, no poise; no charm no grace and no Marilyn Charisma at all! The show was embarrassing to watch and was just downright awkward! Also important to note her show was only 2 minutes and 45 seconds!!! I paid $165.00 for a 3 minute show! Not worth the money. I paid Marilyn in cash with 2 one hundred dollar bills and she advised me that her Manager would issue change back. I left several calls to the company and no one returned said calls until I threatened to call BBB. I received a call 17 days later! In any event once the Manager spoke to me I outlined my disappointments with the show to him. I expect a refund or some sort of compensation of some sort for this less than mediocre show. He basically told me their policy is not to issue refunds unless their performers don’t hold their end of the bargain by showing up to the actual venue to perform. That would be the only way to receive a refund. Well that just great! I guess that their standard. As long as some half ass performer shows up they feel they honored their agreement. What a professional way to run a business. The most unfortunate thing about this situation is that this company is pretty much what is out there in terms of hiring this kind of service so it’s obvious how they can have that sort of policy because if they had competition trust me they probably wouldn’t be in business, providing that this is how they handle their customer complaints. Trust me if you are to hire a performer through this company I would encourage you to request some sort of profile on the performer that they plan on hiring for your event. My Marilyn was downright awful and I can’t do over the event. In saying that, it’s not entirely the companies fault for their employee's performance however they feel they are justified in taking someone’s $165.00 for literally under a 3 minute performance. I explained to the manager that this whole performance is on tape. He wants me to send it to him except has no intention of refunding me anything. Bad business would not recommend!!!
