Beware of service department practices
I have owned a Nissan Sentra and Altima. Both cars had received service at South London Infinity Nissan. Most of the time it was for regular service and the occasional recall. It seems that every time I would visit a very concerned "Service Specialist" would come out to tell me that my brakes were dirty and scratched and needed "machining and polishing" to clean them. The 1st time I was told this I went to a brake specialist (Noseworthy's) to have the brakes inspected and get a second opinion. Well, I was told that in this day and age NOBODY does that. Brakes are built to minimum standards and "cleaning" them only reduces their lifecycle. I neve had Nissan do this to my cars. The very last time I was there (for obvious reasons) I was sitting in the service waiting area and saw a concerned Service Manager some out to tell the owner of a Nissan Murano that his breaks needed "cleaning and polishing". The manager didn't skip a beat when the customer told him "but I had that done last time I was here a month ago". The Manager's response: "I will check our records". My thoughts: "Do they even look at the brakes when they spout this drivel to customers"
My advice: Stay away!
