Can you be more descriptive? what was the problem exactly? What did they renovate and what were the mistakes?

Suspicious review... what was the work? When was it conducted? What were the problems??

Your review is very vague and suspicious. Can we have details please? Or are you a competitor to this business and just felt like trying to bash them???

On the other had if you had a bad experience please share so other we may avoid the same pitfalls...

I'm sorry you feel that way.
Did you bring this matter to our attention?
In all reality, I did open this company back in 2003. Part of the reason I did was I thought the some large corporations (not all) were out of touch with customer service. No company is perfect in their day to day operations and we cannot be right all the time. I do know that in the past 6 years we have dealt with lots of customers, most have reasonable expectations and some do not. We do try hard at being the best we can, but to some it may not be enough. We are affiliated with the BBB and do welcome any complaints. I am the owner and can be reached at 416 or 905 290-9292.
I hope this does not sound confrontational, but in our defence we have had over 6000 customers. In that time we had at most 10 unhappy customers that I recall. I do personally look after any complaints if it is brought to my attention. Out of those we had 4 that are fresh in my mind as being customers with unrealistic expectations or were trying to get something for nothing, and 1 customer that had gotten herself into trouble financially and did a bankruptcy proposal and bounced a check in the sum of $19,180.37 back in 2007, her name did start with T and we are still going after her for the funds. Her father did acknowledge that her daughter did get in over her head with the house purchase and all her spending, he acknowledged to me personally that the work that had been done was not in question, he had offered to cash in his RRSP’s and settle for a lower sum. I was not able to accept the offer. We did not cause the bankruptcy as she did not even pay her bounced check.
As far as the person that has placed this comment on this site, I’m quite certain that things can be rectified as long as both parties are realistic. You are more than welcome to call me (Gary Rodriguez) at your convenience.
Are people so naive to think small business have no pride in workmanship?
The ones that do not have pride are the ones you see on Holmes on Homes, or the ones that take deposits from customers and run. Just like there are bad contractors there are bad customers that are not worth having. I work pretty well 7 days a week, mornings, afternoons, and evenings. My son, family, friends and our customers can attest to this.
As I was writing this letter I googled “bad customers” and found this article.
And it is not to give any relation to this customer that wrote this review.
One woman, who frequently flew on Southwest, was constantly disappointed with every aspect of the company’s operation. In fact, she became known as the “Pen Pal” because after every flight she wrote in with a complaint. She didn’t like the fact that the company didn’t assign seats; she didn’t like the absence of a first-class section; she didn’t like not having a meal in flight; she didn’t like Southwest’s boarding procedure; she didn’t like the flight attendants’ sporty uniforms and the casual atmosphere.
Her last letter, reciting a litany of complaints, momentarily stumped Southwest’s customer relations people. They bumped it up to Herb’s [Kelleher, CEO of Southwest] desk, with a note: ‘This one’s yours.’ In sixty seconds, Kelleher wrote back and said, ‘Dear Mrs. Crabapple, We will miss you. Love, Herb.’”

A referral is as good as the one that is given to you, a lot of those shows on renovation nightmares are great to enlighten people that there are scam artist out there, but there needs to be drama in order for those shows to survive. Not everyone has unlimited funds and it is in the public’s best interest to understand this as with most estimates that are done customers may not divulge it but price plays a big factor in accepting a contract for work. It is human nature to look after your hard earned money. If that was not the case, I could charge more and have weekends off.
Next time you see one of those shows and they tell you to get a few referrals from the contractor. Think about it! Would anybody in their right mind give you one of one of their unsatisfied customer?
I have an open door policy, any one of our potential customer can come to our office, go through our customer data base and select their own referral, good or bad as it may be. That’s a true referral; Holmes should try that one on his next show!
P.S. No personal information is viewed until the customers that were selected as referrals are contacted in front of the new client and asked if they wish to speak to them.
