Our wedding was held July/13 at Le Jardin. While I will admit my decorator and planners made sure the venue was made to look gorgeous, we all knew deep down it was fake. All of it. The sales people, the waiter's, the event staff, all of them. Biggest fakers out there. It's taken me over a year to write one single review of this place because my memories are so tainted with disappointment. Also I had way more important things to take care of but someone asked me about them and this is what I said: I wish I could take it back. I wish I never called them at all. Wished mine and my family's hard earned money went to people who actually care. I wish our wedding could have been any where else but there, but I digress, we booked and paid A LOT of money for this venue. More than usual. Ripped off is putting it mildly. Their own staff (who I will not rat out because they're still unfortunately employed there) told us to our face we were ripped off. They provided A LOT of empty promises. Pro (our would be sales person turned"sales scam artist") was gone by the time our day came along, which never really mattered, he could care less about the customer's or the venue at all actually. We over paid by a long shot. The owner couldn't even figure out how & why we were quoted/paid differed so much. STILL have NEVER received a correct bill. My father in law just paid to be done with it and them. My staff made their venue look gorgeous. My planner cleaned the brides room before I got there and aired it out from whatever seemingly died in there the night before. You cannot take pictures in that room - it is, simply put - disgusting. Can't even fix a "waterfall" or glue down wall paper properly. Can't fix the air-conditioning. Paid a hairstylist over $600 for myself and my girls; stepped one step into the venue, hair gone. SO humid it was disgusting. We had half the food catered by THE HOST - and THANK GOODNESS. Venue food = gross. Host food - AMAZING (highly recommend). We literally threw out the take home container's and it was all Le Jardin food we took home. During the planning process, it took over 3 mths for "Pro" to agree to a food tasting, made us come for Sunday brunch to taste food that wasn't even going to be served at our wedding!! Rubbed in my face how much money it cost him to allow that to happen! The 2nd most important aspect of the day and the very 1st item on our request list (still have it saved so I know I'm not crazy) is that there was NOT to be pineapple what-so-ever at our wedding. The BRIDE is deathly allergic. It's written on every single piece of paper in the year-long meetings we had with them, not to mention the two-week meeting prior to the wedding - in bold black marker!! (I feel I should mention that my fiancee suffered a stroke 2 weeks prior to the wedding and NOT ONCE was a well wish or a good word put in). In fact, I was told my wedding was fast approaching and there were "more important" details to iron out, because G-D forbid we not figure out where to put the damn podium!! That's how much they care. That's how important they make you feel. Book a wedding planner for these types of phone calls. I digress...Fast forward to said wedding day....I'm hot and bothered (not in a good way), they didn't put the right amount of chairs out and made my guests stand for my ceremony - which delayed everything as well, LIED about the amount of ppl we could get in the foyer, LIED about how many could fit outside, did not have the room set up as to the guidelines of their own fancy template, food sucks, staff is curt and out-right rude to my 80 year old Grandma (who never ate a G-D thing because they LIED about her special mean being available), but what appears on my dessert table?? PINEAPPLE !!!!! What didn't come out of anyone's mouth (including the "head waiter") - an apology. Not even a small attempt it make it right. Not even one single offer of anything to make it right. Not once. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Even as I walked away from the table in tears afraid to even take pictures near the table. WE were made to feel badly that all that food would be wasted - which it wasn't. "Can't you just eat around it" was the question asked...Never a care or concern for the Bride and Groom for the entire process. I could have died but hey - the cheque cleared! Food was never touched by the Bride and Groom. Our own wedding - no dessert. Oh, cannot forget how we were followed out by a staff member, obviously looking for an additional tip - one I refused to pay since "Pro" made us pay it in advance!! But thanks for making sure we left! I would never ever recommend this venue. In fact, I have advised heavily against it several times over the last year or so. I just never wrote it down. I try and look back and remember the friends, my handsome hubby, our families together, and completely disregard Le Jardin from my mind, just like how they made us feel. Marrying my husband was the best decision I have ever made in my life - choosing Le Jardin as our venue for our day was the worst decision I have ever made. Don't make the same mistake - your day is far more special than Le Jardin will ever make you feel. (P.S. They make you pick a star, so I picked one).
