Great service and great nails!
My friend and I went to Joy Nails for a mani-pedi. The staff was friendly and they had many different polish colours to choose from. Thanks so much Joy Nails! We will be back!!
Great nails, great time!
I booked a last minute appointment at The Village Spa for a manicure and pedicure on Christmas Eve.
My pedicure and manicure look fantastic and will still be good for New Year's Eve.
The staff were friendly attentive and the spa was clean and comfortable.
Thanks Village Spa! I would recommend this wonderful spa to everyone!
Delicious Pizza!
I love going to Boston Pizza for dinner. They have such a wide variety of delicious pizzas and there is something for everyone!
Yummy! Yummy!
I went to the Keg Mansion last night for my anniversary dinner :) It was fantastic!
We started with the bacon wrapped scallops and then moved on to our main course. I had the New York style steak and Scott had the Prime Rib. SO GOOD!
Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. She was able to tell me about all of the different cuts of steak and knew just the right time to come by our table.
This was my first time at the Keg and I would totally go back.

hahahaha things that are wrapped in bacon. its kind of like a guarantee that people will like it!
oh one would think that kat!!! i did not have such a luck with bacon wrapped scallops in halifax (salty's place) they were dry and even the what should have been good stuff on it - bacon - was not impressive ... on the other hand steph ... I LOOOOOVE the keg and my steak there its simply the best place in town with the most consistency, glad you guys had good time :-) happy anniversary!! how many years now?
"We'll have the platter"
On Friday night kat and I went for an appetizer and a drink. We decided to hit up The Beaver cafe. They have a small but comfortable back patio and one of my favourite wines on their list, so this place is always one of my top choices.
The service was great and the food was even better!! We could not decide on which dip to get - the bean puree, hummus or avocado salsa...So we just got it all! Normally this would be too much dip for two ladies but they offer two sizes! Perfect!
I love this little place and would like to go back for dinner sometime soon. The menu sounds delish!

AVACADO SALSA ROCKED MY WORLD!!!!
I love the library!
Now call me a nerd, but I have rediscovered my love of the library! I took a serious break from pleasure reading when I began University but this summer I wanted to get that passion back. What better place to go then the library where the books are FREE - that`s right folks FREE! Hardly anything in the world is free anymore...You can even rent DVD`s at the library for free!
The front desk clerk quickly set me up with a library card and directed me to a librarian who was eager to show me how to use the database to search for books (which was very effective and user friendly).
I found the books I was looking for and left - the whole thing took about 10 minutes.

Fantastic Weekend Wedding!
Friends of my boyfriend and I were getting married this past weekend at a resort spa in the Muskoka region. What a great idea for a wedding! Having all of your friends and family go away with you for a weekend.
I had never been to a wedding like this before and it definitely surpassed all of my expectations. This traditional Sikh wedding was held at the Trillium Resort Spa and everything was fantastic. Although I did not have an opportunity to use the spa facilities (too many other things to do) I heard from other guests that they were lovely.
When we arrived (late as usual) on Friday night we were greeted by the friendly staff who had set aside some of the food from earlier in evening for us. I crept away from the Sangeet and Mendthi (a bridal decoration where the bride and other ladies receive henna) to change into something more appropriate for the occasion. Being able to change into multiple outfits was definitely a plus! When I returned everyone was sitting...

I crept away from the Sangeet and Mendthi (a bridal decoration where the bride and other ladies receive henna) to change into something more appropriate for the occasion. Being able to change into multiple outfits was definitely a plus! When I returned everyone was sitting around a bonfire beside the lake and watching beautiful fireworks.
The rooms are amazing at the Trillium Resort. In fact, they are not rooms but rather two bedroom cottages. We had the loft bedroom in our cabin and a fantastic view of the lake. The cabin included full electricity, bathroom, kitchen, two bedrooms, and leather furniture, TV, DVD and CD player. We were hardly roughing it!!!
The next day at the main lodge we enjoyed a buffet style breakfast including eggs, bacon, pancakes, French toast, fresh fruit and more. The same breakfast was served on Sunday morning and it was great both times especially after the open bar.
The ceremony itself was outside in a tent that we decorated during the day. Although it rained, this is considered lucky by people of the Sikh faith and the tent held up well!
The dinner was 5 courses beginning with a Bocchini Salad followed by pesto penne with roasted vegetables. Next came the intermezzo, frozen cherries with mint leaves then the main courses of lemon dill Salmon and finally the desert, grilled pear with vanilla ice cream. There was also endless champagne, wine, orderves and a wedding cake that was baked in a ceremonial fashion and topped with organic edible wild flowers.
After filling our bellies and dancing into the wee hours of the morning it was too late to fire up the wood burning sauna so we decided to take advantage of the hot tub and swimming pool. The perfect ending to a great night.
I would have liked to stay longer on Sunday in order to enjoy some of the hiking trails and free canoeing/kayaking but I had to be back in Toronto by 4pm. Oh well, just an excuse to go back again!

ugh, so lucky! muskoka is definetly a beautiful place, making it a picturesque spot for a wedding. the pictures you've shown me are gorgeous and i'm glad everything turned out for the newlyweds.
moving on, when are you going to post pictures of yourself enjoying the open bar, hmmmm?
I would like to reinforce to readers of this review how good the food must have been. Steph has rattled off the menu so many times now I almost know it by heart! I can attest to the fact that she was impressed. Does the resort have in-house catering?
Also the whole thing looks beautiful, like the perfect weekend getaway.
Great Video Store
I recently got a membership at Black Dog Video as it is now the closest video store to my place, and I am happy that I did.
Unlike some of the larger video store chains, Black Dog provides a great selection of old and new movies which can be hard to find at the larger chains. It is also considerably less expensive then most other stores - 7 Day Rentals are only $3.00.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable - for example, I was trying to remember the name of a French comedy "Le Dîner de cons" and they knew right away but checked online anyway just to make sure...you just can't get that kind of service at Blockbuster.
My two favourite things about the store is the section they have that is organized by director (a great way to get a film education) and the notebook at the front cash where customers can write down films that need to be added to the store collection.
Be sure to check this place out!
Coffee?
It is rare that you can actually revisit the bar that is responsible for your headache the next day and have them make you a coffee to help cure it.
This is the case at the Gladstone Hotel - literally its the same bar that they make the drinks at that houses the espresso maker.
Open earlier then most other coffee shops around my house, these guys make a great latte and they are just steps away from the Dufferin Bus stop that I need to wait at for work.
They also use GreenShift biodegradable cups- kat loves 'em, and so should we all!!!

Soundz like a nice place. Do they serve any types of tea or Chai drinks there?
Merry Christmas !
Our office held a chicken wing eating challenge at Crown and Dragon. The wings were second to none and with half-price Tuesday there is no better deal in town!
