Stay away!!!
My best friend got married last year and I was one of the 3 bridesmaids. One of them suggested Bridal Suite because her sister-in-law bought her dress there. And let me tell you, from the time we walked in, tried the dresses, and paid, the service was excellent. Everyone had a smile on their face.
Now, when the dresses arrived, there came the nightmare.
First of all, when I tried on my dress, the sales lady insisted that I was a size 6. I was more than positive that I was (and still am) a size 2. She stressed that the dresses are made smaller. When I got the dress, obviously it was WAYYYYY too big. They wanted to me to pay $150 for alternation fee, which is 2/3 of the price for the dress. I tried to argue with them because I already told them in the first place that size 6 would be too big. The same sales lady was so rude and refused to admit that it was her fault. I took the dress to someone else and paid almost $100 to have it altered. It still didn't look good because of the type of fabric and that it was 2 size up.
I would never recommend this store to anyone.
Definitely not an Italian bistro
If you just wanna have a place to sit down and grab a cheap bite with a friend, this is not a bad place to go, but definitely not an Italian bistro. They also serve French onion soup, kebobs, and spring rolls! Yep, you heard me right! The food was alright. It deserves 3 stars because of the friendly staff.
Exceeded my expectation
Chez Chose is a small but classy bistro. If you like lamb, venison, duck, smoked fish, you will like it here. Food is pricey but extraordinary. After all you get what you pay for. Service is great. They also have a good selection of wines.
Parking can be a pain. If you're going from downtown, suggest to take a taxi.
Little gem in Old Montreal
Outstanding service! Staff is friendly and polite. The owner makes sure you're being taken care of.
Must try calamari ai ferri (grilled calamari) and risotto porcini. The wine list is amazing too. I give 4 1/2 stars because the prices are slightly too high.
can't believe no one written a...
This is a wonderful hotel located in the heart of Old Montreal. Walking distance to many nice restaurants. The room is clean and comfortable, has modern décor, and has heating in the bathroom floor. Staff is graceful and pleasant. With this price you can't go wrong with Hotel Gault.
If you like real Asian food!
Hawker bar is a small restaurant specializing in Malaysian/Singaporean food. The menu is simple and everything is good. The Hawker Punch is a must! Their Hainanese Chicken Rice is by far the best I had. Their chili sauce and ginger on the side bring out the flavor of the chicken. IThe Laksa Lemak is also a must try. It is rice noodle in spicy coconut soup. Very yummy!!
Disappointing
I was there few years ago when I visited Vancouver. The desserts were to die for. Few years later they still have the exact same menu but the quality had gone downhill. The place looks depressing and the servers don't seem to be happy. Cakes are pre-cut and dry. It's sad as it used to be one of my favorite places.
Patio!
Beautiful restaurant. View is spectacular especially when you're enjoying a nice day on the patio. The food and service may not be extraordinary but we loved the patio.
The best sushi I'd ever have
I've been Mikado's customer for over 5 years. Their fish is always fresh. Service cannot be any better. The ladies always have a smile on their face. The man behind the sushi bar is the owner. They'd been in business since 1978.
This place is not cheap. You can easily spend $150 for a dinner for 2, but it's truly worth it. You'll never find another sushi place in Toronto that serve such excellent quality of food.
If downtown Toronto is too far for you to travel, Diana's Seafood would be a good option for oysters.
They have a huge variety of oysters for you to choose from. Also try the scallops. Delish!
Sea bass with pomegranate sauce is also wonderful. Service is excellent. It would be wise to make a reservation as this place does get very busy in the evenings.
