Wouldn't Recommended. Vision Worse
I got treatment for kerataconus.
I believe the treatment stopped the shape-changing of my cornea, but my vision got worse after.
Before my procedure, I was able to watch tv pretty good from my bed and read the digital clock about 10 feet away from the bed. Now I get a double vision and have to lean forward.
Overall, when I read text, I get a slight double vision and it wasn't like this before.
Before my procedure, I was told this would stop the shape-changing but not improve the vision. Leave it to Dr. Cheskes to tell me before the procedure that my vision would slightly improve. I thought he was lying just to make me feel good, and I was right.
Lynn at the Scarborough location does good aftercare. She offered soft contacts and lubrication, but Cheskes suggested I get hard contact lenses which could run me anywhere from $500-$1,200. I told his secretary that I'm disappointed at his money-grab and even she couldnt understand why he offered such an extreme solution.
If I do in fact need intacs or hard contact lenses, I WILL be going somewhere that recognizes they're dealing with humans, and not sources of income. I suggest you do the same.
And if you have any serious complaints about your experience with them, please contact the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada to make a complaint and have your opthalmologist investigated. We can't have these guys messing with peoples vision.
