excellent facility
I just read the review from the woman whose dog seemed to have a severe personality change after a visit to this kennel. The woman blamed the staff and gave the impression that her dog was abused in some way.
I have been a customer at Lilac Grove since their opening day and have left all of my dogs there. I can't seem to reconcile her bad experience with the great experiences my dogs have had there.
I have worked with dogs professionally for over 40 years and I believe I have a bit more insight into the canine mind than the average person. It seems to me that this woman is a first time dog owner with unrealistic expectations. Perhaps she should look to herself for blame. Any dog that has such a severe personality change due to a kennel visit has, in my opinion, a very unsound temperament. No wonder if the pup is only 5 months old. Maybe she should focus more on socializing her 'furry baby' rather than blaming the finest boarding establishment in our area. I have come to know Wendy and her staff over these many years and it's just plain slander to even suggest that they would in any way abuse an animal.
Wendy has a highly trained, caring staff and she herself is a real gem. It's ludicrous to imply that the dog was abused. Get a grip.
The problem lies with the owner who clearly thinks her dog is a human. It's a DOG! I have dogs and yes, they are my 'babies' but I made sure that they were properly socialized so that they could function in the world of vet visits, kennel stays and visits to the Groomers. Pity the poor kennel or groomer who has to deal with her neurosis from now on.
There are plenty of good training facilities locally and I suggest that this women avail herself of their services as soon as possible. Firstly to socialize her 'furry baby' (sheesh) and more importantly to educate herself about the realities of dog ownership.
And by the way. Wherever did she come up with the idea that the owner had to be on the premises 24/7? That too is ludicrous. She should stay home and hold 'furry baby' in the safety of her arms if she wants 24 hour hands on care.
Working with dogs as I do, I come across hundreds of pet owners. I always recommend Lilac Grove and I have NEVER heard a bad thing about their pet's care. Why is this woman so different? Consider the source.
It's criminal that anybody can just go to this website and write any sort of review whether the complaint is founded or not. Careers can be ruined by such a person. Fortunately, businesses like Lilac Grove will survive because they provide the ultimate in pet care. Just ask the hundreds of satisfied customers who feel fortunate to get a coveted spot at Wendy's.
I find it hard to believe that any reputable vet would agree that 'furry baby' was abused at the kennel. Vet's are used to dealing with neurotic pet owners. I'll bet they told her the same thing I just did. Her dog too young, too unsocialized and she and the dog needed professional help. If this woman continues to baby her dog it will never have a good experience no matter where it goes.Poor dog. It deserves better.
Prospective customers, ignore the ravings of a madwoman and visit the kennel yourself. You'll be really impressed
