post clintons karaoke orgy

To start off, I've never been much of a karaoke man myself. The only times I sing are when I'm in the shower and when I'm cooking .

So I was looking through some old photos tonight when I discovered an evening that took place in may of 2006. IT starts like this. Some of my friends who have a band in Victoria are in town to play a show at the bar Clintons so myself and some of my other friends go to the show and have a wonderful time the band plays flawlessly. After the show we all decide that we need to catch up since it's been awhile since we saw our friends who moved out to Victoria. Luckily for us right above Clintons is one of the real gems of toronto. You guessed it! XO KARAOKE.

So we head up and book a room. we cram about 8 or 10 people into this private room complete with big tv, leather couches, special spinning light ball and all the drinks we can order. I also recall that we were able to smoke in the room I don't know if that's...

careful, you may not leave.

This Saturday I went to this little spot with a bunch of friends after closing night of our play we had been showing all week. My friend Kristen said I would really like it. I'm usually quite skeptical when people tell me what I will and will not like.

Despite this I wasn't too proud to admit that I liked it. There are very few bars that I like sitting around in, but this one certainly is an exception.

The atmosphere is relaxing, they have the kind of rum that I like and the staff are friendly and relaxed. It reminds me of the bars I would visit when in San Francisco. I wouldn't hesitate to walk in alone and know that by the end of the evening I would absolutely have had a meaningful conversation with at least 3 strangers.

After lunch ice cream in october?????

OK so my girlfriend and I had lunch today then after I really wanted ice cream. Luckily right across the road from where we ate lunch was the infamous local staple "dutch dreams". I didn't realize that they were open right into the winter but sure was excited to see that they are. They have all kinds of wild decorations and lots of different ice creams. I had mint chocolate chip which is one of my all time favorites, and suffice it to say it's difficult to screw up. All and all a great experience. We sat outside on the painted milk drums and enjoyed desert.

oh cute little place! icecream is one of the things europeans can't live without (at least eastern europeans). on every other corner .. the loads and loads of creamy mountains are elegantly piled up in the icecreamcarts with beautiful presentations and decorations of fruits & nuts and flowers etc. ... something that the north america still doesn't wanna master .. not sure why

let me start off by saying that everyone knows that it isnt really ice cream if there aren't cookies in it..but it looks like those guys would get it right! I will have to check it out

late breakfest (pleasant, and suprised)

So I woke up today and watched a movie with my girl friend and when it was over we realized that we hadn't eaten yet and it was afternoon. It is Sunday so I really was feeling lazy so we decided to go for a walk in the neighborhood and find something close by. We went into the retro cafe, which is close to my house, and were pleasantly surprised with the menu. The atmosphere is quite dark and really seems like a kind of sketchy bar, but when you look passed this and go inside you're surprised by the pleasant service and the nice menu. So we ordered and were brought a nice muffin to start things off then after that the food came.

I just got a club sandwich, it was good but kept falling apart (my fault) the fries were really good too.

anyhow we ate then left. The food was really good and so was the service, but I wasn't a fan of the atmosphere. It seems like they know more about food and customer service than what a restaurant is suppose to look like. and for this reason I give it a 3.5////

okay,

have you lost your mind?!? this place looks great. I am a huge fan of the little diner/bar for brunch (so long as the clean up whatever was happening there the night before!). this place looks great, and much more reasonably priced than if they were downtown.

hang over cure

this cozy diner has the cure for even the most intense hang over. They're open like all night and the whole place couldn't be more than eight feet wide. You can sit there and study the fine bacon and egg grilling technique of your chef as you start to remember the night before with a friend.

there's honestly nothing like a greasy spoon breakfast when you're hung over. NOTHING.

i havent' found the hangover cure yet but i really wanna believe you did (for my own sake).. so if you say so ... then i should definitely try it .. if i do .. then i will definitely let you know if its the cure or not .. if it is .. then its definitely a miracle!
