DO NOT BUY YOUR DRESS FROM THESE PEOPLE
I had been planning my wedding for over a year, and my Mother and I decided to go to Edmonton to see what kind of selection they had for bridal stores. I am from a small city in Saskatchewan, and our bridal shops are lacking quality. So we made the long drive to Edmonton. While shopping for other things in the mall my sister suggested we check out the shops in the mall for a dress. We stopped at Ethos and tried on a few dresses. I found a dress I was in love with, but it didn't have a lace up back. The staff assured me that they could put in a lace up back no problem and would order fabric from the designer so it would be the same color and fabric as the dress. I was sold. So my Mother paid for the gown in full and we headed our merry way back to Saskatchewan. Well the dress came in early which was amazing, but we weren't expecting it for another month and we had made reservations at a hotel in the mall so we could pick it up the next month. So they told us they would hold it for us. I inquired about alterations, considering they had told us they would do it there and it would be no problem. And the lady snarkily replied "We don't do alterations here" I was in shock, they had told us they did. So we made arrangements for someone in our home city to do the alterations for us. Since we had given her no notice the latest she could squeeze me in was the end of march. So we made the long trip to edmonton to pick up the dress, and it was beautiful.. one small snag.. there was no fabric with the dress. We were told that it had to be somewhere in the store. So we waited for an hour for them to find it, no luck. Then we were told it had to be in the warehouse and that someone would call us after the holiday and let us know where it was.. and they would mail it to us. So we left the store. What I didn't get is how the dress could be received, have sat for over a month moved from the designer bag into the ethos bridal bag and no one noticed there was no fabric, when on our file and receipt it clearly had it listed. The dress is an off white, not ivory, not white, so the fabric is important. Tuesday came and went, no phone call.. the week flew by.. still no phone call. I called on friday and was made to feel like I was bothering them and that they are "looking for it" and would call me monday. So I wait.. Monday came and went.. no phone call.. tuesday..wednesday.. so finally on thursday I call them and again get the run around and she tells me that "We will call you when we have an answer" I asked when that would be, she said " I don't know" i again let her know I need it altered at the end of the month (2.5 weeks away) and she says "it might not be in". I recommend to everyone thinking about buying from this store TO NOT DO IT. IT's not worth your money to be treated like you don't matter. Its your wedding. We paid over $2000 for my dress. If I could do it over.. I would have went to the store next door with lipstick stains on the dresses over a store where they treat you like you really don't matter and that you are bothering them when you call.
