Purchased and Installed Carrier...
1. Based on the excellent reviews here, we had a new Carrier furnace and air conditioner installed in July 2013 by Maple Air. The next day we found out that our hot water tank wasn't working. We
called Maple Air and asked if their technician had mistakenly turned off our hot water tank since it's directly beside the air conditioning duct. Instead of help or advice, the customer service
rep accused us of misusing our hot water tank and then said:
"Our technicians are too busy to send someone to check such a small thing and you should try to fix it yourselves".
It turns out that they did turn off our hot water tank.
2. While checking the hot water tank, I saw that the technicians had swept all of the dirt, screws, nails and tape under the hot water tank!
3. The salesman promised us a $650 rebate from Carrier within 6-8 weeks after installation. After 3 months we called them and they said that we are responsible for submitting the rebate form to
Carrier ourselves. Then they said they would send us the rebate form. After an additional 2 months and 5-6 requests for our rebate form, they sent it to us.
4. The furnace stopped working on Jan 1, 2014 so we scheduled service from Maple Air for Jan 4, 2014 between 12pm and 2pm. At 3pm we called Maple Air and they said they're too busy and can't come
for a few more days. They said we should try to schedule something for next week Tuesday between 9am and 6pm. After explaining that both my wife and I work on weekdays, he said in his exact words:
"You'll have to respect our time and make time for us. I can't do anything else because I have 2 other calls to attend to."
Then after I got upset he said:
"Excuse me sir, this is Canada and you must ask for things politely."
I can only assume the good reviews here are by Maple Air employees or there's some kind of discrimination against us specifically.
