I did not have a positive experience with City Duct Cleaning. I hired them because of their Top Choice and Consumer Choice Awards. During the original discussion I was promised a "free washroom exhaust cleaning" as part of the duct cleaning service. When I asked the technician about the free washroom exhaust I was told that the promotion had been cancelled.
A month later, I had my air conditioner checked and found the furnace filter to be filthy. At the time of the duct cleaning, my furnace filter was not cleaned and I was not told that the filter needed to be replaced. I called City Duct Cleaning to complain and the owners offered to clean my ducts again. During the second cleaning, the owners did a great job and also offered to find the proper sized furnace filters. They quoted me a price of $41/filter so I ordered two. What they didn't tell me was that there was an additional $69 service fee for delivery of the filters. I was blind-sided by this amount as I could have ordered the filters from another supplier for $45/filter including shipping.
If you do hire them, make sure the services and fees are clarified upfront to avoid any surprises.
