Galley Pump

Maybe 100 years ago, long before I was born (well, 30 years ago I was too young to drink, so same thin, yes> ;)

Based on these reminiscent reviews, I dared to check the place out, expecting it to be a throw-back if you will but still fun; what I found was a bunch of (being polite) over-served idiots, dirty and grungy, hardly friendly at all (unless by friendly you mean asking you for money to buy them a beer when showing up at your table uninvited while helping themselves to you cigarettes; well then, if that's what you mean, sure, "friendly" bunch). On the one hand, couldn't help but notice the place supports seniors (do what it takes to maintain a biz, this is true) and as I've a grandmother whom I love, difficult to write this review. But fact and remains: they over serve, and what they serve will in fact take from you. I'd warn my own grandma against this place, unless she wants to lose her purse.

Sad, given the history of the place. But history is long gone and buried, and simply cannot recommend the place, unless you're a beggar looking to pick on ordinary folks for them to buy you a drink.
