Poor customer service experience
I'd been going to this pharmacy for a number of months and had had fairly positive experiences.
Unfortunately, my most recent experience with a faxed prescription has dragged out for over two weeks and still not been resolved. The first time I called to check the status of the prescription (about a week after I phoned in the request), I was told that they'd been faxing a doctor's office on Upper Ottawa (not the correct office), even though they had previously faxed several prescriptions to my doctor. I calmly corrected the mix-up and reminded them of the street and town my doctor's office was located in. They said the prescription would need to be refaxed to the correct address. I was out of medication at this point, and it was necessary for me to advocate in order for them to advance me a week's worth.
Towards the end of the week, I called again. After being put on hold several times while they searched for my prescription, I was told that they'd found it, and I could pick it up. I went in three days later to pick it up and was again told that they had no record of it. At this point, I expressed frustration at the continued confusion and long delay (without being rude or raising my voice). At no point did anyone apologize to me or offer to do their best to address the situation. The solutions that were offered to me were to "call far ahead" of my prescription running out next time ( I'd called a week ahead) and for me to bring them the fax number for my doctor (which the doctor's office requires the pharmacy to obtain). It was fairly clear to me from the defensiveness I encountered that staff felt I was being unreasonable, despite the mistakes that had been made and the time that had elapsed.
