Don't let the sketchy back alley...

The other day ryan and I went to the Green Room for lunch. I definitely thought the back alley you have to go through to get there was a little weird but I ended up being pleasantly surprised. We walked in and sat ourselves on the patio. The waitress took a little while to come bring us menus because she didn't even notice us come in, but that wasn't a big deal..I was busying enjoying the interesting patio. The patio has about 8 or so random tables with random plastic chairs next to a really cool waterfall. The menu is very diverse. It has everything from bar food to thai food to mexican food. ryan and I both ordered the chicken pad thai and we got a side order of fries. The pad thai wasn't your usual pad thai but I really liked it...and I'm usually very picky. The fries were also pretty good. The meal came fast and the waitress was always around when we needed her. When we were there, there was only about 5 other people in the place but I know during the nights and weekends it can get pretty busy with an interesting and sophisticated crowd. Overall The Green Room has a great atmosphere and is a great place to go for lunch or a night out!

...sketchy back alleys are out-of-bounds for me.

Mmm sweaty!

I had previously taken yoga classes but then I heard amazing things about hot yoga from my friends. Moksha Yoga Richmond Hill was the closest hot yoga studio to my house so I decided to go try it out with some friends (hilary and erika00). I can't remember how much it cost for your first class..I think it was about $7..not bad at all but they also have an introductory offer for new people where you pay 20 bucks and you can go as much as you want for 7 straight days. As soon as you walk in you can feel the heat and the whole place is so quiet. Once you sign in, you can rent a towel or yoga mat for 2 bucks each and you can also get a bottle of water for 2 bucks. The change rooms were very nice and clean and I waited in there until it was time for my class to begin. Once I walked in and lay down my mat, I felt like I couldn't breathe because of the heat. The teacher, dave87 , was so calming that I started to forget about the heat. He went slowly for all the...

I've often wanted to try Yoga as it's been recommended to me, many times for my back pain.
Would this be the type of thing I should investigate, especially with the heat?

mystique, if you tell the instructor before class that you have back problems, throughout the class they will help you to do easier versions of the postures that are still effective but less harsh on the back...the heat makes you feel so good!

Expensive but addictive!

This Starbucks location is the once I usually go to and I really like it because most of the staff can understand my complicated drink orders (tall, 4-pump, non-fat, no water, extra hot tazo chai latte....try it!!). They usually have lots of different food and snack choices and the staff are always willing to offer their help in choosing drinks. I find that the staff change very often because I hear that no one likes the manager but that happens almost everywhere. Even so, the staff are very chipper and my drinks always taste perfect. I usually go everyday because I love it so much but $3.50 for a tea everyday is definitely making a dent in my bank account! Oh well...I'm already addicted!

I totally agree with your whole review, Erin! My son & I were out shopping yest & decided to stop @ one of our Starbucks. We're both on low carb diets & the staff couldn't have been any more helpful. The result? Heavenly 'nectar' from the Gods, lol! Actually it was just different versions of Chai Lattes with non-sugar syrups but heavenly none-the-less!
Happy Holidayz & you know what? A Tea addiction is much healthier & cheaper for you than some other habits :) so drink away!!!lol Enjoy away......~smiles~

I love starbucks!! I can't stand timmys....

I do not like however how some locations charge me extra for Lactose milk. They call it Soy on the register...why should I pay extra for a dietary restraint?

The only place I'll go!

Salon Altima is my favourite place to get my hair done. My hair dresser is Sarah and she is the only person in the world I trust to cut my hair. Sometimes when I am very nervous she completely dries my hair and then cuts it after so I'll know exactly what it looks like. She will do whatever I want and will also listen to all your problems! I definitely recommend this place..go to Sarah!

Sounds like a family affair! Hey I see they have no website. FYI - they can actually set one up in seconds - for free in the [update listing] section. Just like members get a url, such as silver.n 49.ca, a business can set up site like afif.salons.ca. I set up salonaltima.salons.ca - if they add a logo and photos it will look better and they can even change the look of the site from several different templates. Fun private parties!

I went here on a Saturday night for a private party for two girls' birthdays. It is right at Bloor and Yonge so the subway is right next to it and there is also a parking lot right there for about $6. Since it was a private party, cover was free which was really nice. Apparently private parties are held here very often and it can hold up to 300 people. When you first walk in there is the restaurant area and as you walk a little further there is a little lounge with a nice bar. The whole atmosphere was very trendy. Most of the party was held on the second floor, which has it's own bar and cool drapes on the ceiling. The drinks were average for downtown, $7.50 for an amaretto sour. There was also a heated patio where people could smoke and it had an amazing view. There is a little stage area upstairs and a beat-boxer came up and performed for us! (see video) Overall, this is actually a really nice place to have private parties and once I check out the food at the restaurant there I'll be sure to write more!

LET ME SIT!

I went here for my friend's birthday in June. They told us that if we wanted to get in on the guestlist that we had to be there by 10. So we got there by 10 and NO ONE was there except for us so the place was freezing and so boring. There are 2 rooms, each with their own bar. One is a room with more rock music and one is more hip hop music.

The place started filling up around 12 and by then my feet were already killing in my heels! My friends had the exact same problem but there is absolutely no where to sit in the entire place. In the washroom there are 2 chairs, which you can never get to sit on because other girls with aching feet are constantly hogging them. So me and my friends decided to put down paper towels in the washroom and sit on the floor (I know..ew...but we were desperate!). Then someone who worked there came in and said "NO SITTING ON THE FLOOR!" Bah! So we decided to go the bar and get some drinks. We asked for 6 amaretto sours (about 8 bucks...

Great way to kick off legal drinking!

I went here for my 19th birthday and it was my first time going to a club. My friends recommended this place because they said that it was full of younger people and that's definitely what I loved about it. It's more fun making a drunken fool of yourself in front of other university kids as opposed to older 20-somethings.

There's a huge bar running along the side of the club with tons of bartenders so I had no problems getting drinks, which I have now learned is a huge feat at many clubs. The bartenders even get up on the bar and start dancing when certain songs come on!

The DJ was great and played amazing songs and cool mixes and even gave me a shout out for my birthday! In the middle of the place is a raised platforms with barrels and poles for people to dance on...very fun! The thing I loved best about this place is that right when you walk in, there are tables and chairs for you to sit, which a lot of clubs don't have and when you are wearing...

Bring Home a Very Tired Pooch!

Holiday Pet Care is a great place to leave your dog for a few hours while you are at work or even while you go on vacation. I leave my dog there when I have to go to school for long hours because I hate to leave her in a crate at home. When I bring her in, they already know her by name and I just drop her off and I know she is safe. They have special doors that can only be opened by the secretary, which really helps to ensure that no dogs can escape. The fences in the back are dug deep into the ground so that no dogs can burrow their way out. Each dog is pre-screened to make sure that they have a good temperament for this environment. They also have a special air filtration system to help prevent the spread of infections and fleas, although each dog who comes must have flea protection. I think they take the dogs outside about every 2 hours to prevent accidents inside. They have 2 rooms inside. The downstairs room for crazy and rambunctious dogs and the upstairs room for the calmer...

The Coolest New Spot in Richmond Hill!

For my sister's 24th birthday, we were looking for a nice place where we could sit down and have dinner but then invite as many people as we wanted for dancing afterwards. Nava was exactly what we were looking for!

We called and made reservations for about 10 of us for dinner, which we wanted to have as late as possible so that we would be able to keep our booth throughout the night. They said they would let us have a later reservation than they normally allow and gave us a booth right above the dance floor. The booth would have been a quite tight if all 10 people had shown up, but since only 7 people did, it ended up being a great table in a great location.

For appetizers, we all shared Nava Fondue and Buttermilk & Cornmeal Calamari. I didn't try the calamari, but the rest of the guests said that it was excellent. The fondue was a little watery, but still tasty. Most of us had the Grilled Tortilla Wrap, which was amazing and it came with a nice little...

You won't believe what they have...

This store has everything imaginable for dogs, and more. They have soccer jerseys, race car beds, sweatshirts, halloween costumes, winter jackets, hiking boots, hair clips, breath mints, canopy beds, and a huge selection of toys, treats, bowls, and grooming products. This is a dream store for anyone who loves to spoil their dog. The clothes can even be for cats too! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and they especially love it when you bring your dog in and they give them sample treats. They have sizes for really small dogs that you can't find anywhere else....and those are the dogs that need the winter jackets the most! Just walking by this store will make you want to run out and buy a puppy!
