unfortunate experience
I was having some dental work and was quite pleased with the staff members that were involved during my 1st sessions. But on my last visit I was given an injection to my lower jaw on the left side. Ouch...the assistant hit a nerve causing severe pain! The session was stopped. the pain continued after freezing wore off. the pain was spreading to the left side of my face with incredible pain to the upper and lower jaw as well as to my left eye and also the top of my head. My family doctor told me that damage to the trigeminal nerve is the cause of the pain and that it is not curable.... I would have to be on medication for the rest of my life! this and another ailment called shingles are the most painful ailments that a person can get! they then requested that I see a dental surgeon so I complied and got an appointment. this was a very unproductive visit the people at go dental said that they would cover the cost of this visit, but the doctor said that he knew nothing of this arrangement. then he asked me how I knew it was trigeminal neuralgia. I told him that my doctor informed me that this is what it was and that I had looked it up on the internet! the dentals reply was 1/ my physician was not qualified and secondly that "you cannot believe any thing that you see on the internet and that the only sources that he would accept were MIT and another college in the USA! when I got home I checked the sources that I was looking at were the ones that he referred to! perhaps he has partial ownership in Go Dental? I did not appreciate being and being treated like an idiot! accidents can happen and I am sure that the assistant they gave me the injection was doing her best to do it properly. she jumped back when I reacted to the pain. my disappointment with the clinic is that they went into complete denial that this event happened both at the time of the injury and in later conversations! then to be demeaned by their dental surgeon was further insult upon injury!
