In a sense they provided a shield while I dealt with the CRA, ACCOUNTANTS DO NOT HAVE THIS PRIVILEDGE! I only found that out when dealing with DioGuardi. The CRA can force your accountant to disclose details you may not want to before you work out a deal with the CRA. All I can say is that they are expensive but my file was dealt with by them and the outcome was much preferable should I have gone to an accountant. You should shop around thought with different lawyers to estimate the cost. But I always believe that you get what you pay for.
