Not bad at all
Pleasant space, decent food, pretty good wine list. I have been there 3-4 times and would not hesitate returning.
Awful..
Stay away...
Top sushi
One of the best sushi places in town.
Authentic Japanese food by authentic Japanese staff. Very friendly service, fresh and delicious food. One of my favorites.
Do not be put off by the empty tables in the restaurant. It is not flocked by diners who are impressed by flash. Just walk in, sit down and enjoy a fine experience. I have been going there regularly and am rarely disappointed.
One of the best!
Dedicated, attentive staff. Fabulous, fresh sushi. Katsudon is a delight... One of the few Japanese restaurants with Japanese owners and staff. Highly reccomended!
Bland, bland, bland
Why can't vegetarians cook? Truly boring.
Cafeteria style, bulk foot eatery.
Not Japanese
an approximation at best. Walk down the street to Totoya (Dalhousie and Clarence) for a tastier and more authentic experience.
Terrible, not even Japanese
Greasy tempura (though it's deep fried it should not be greasy), bland sushi, amateurish.
Went once but will not return.
Mediocre
Decor is not brasserie but industrial. Service was ok but not very personal. Food was inconsistent (undercooked pasta, over-salty soup) and not very flavourful. Eat there only if every other place is booked.
Mediocre at best
Went to this place after some people suggested it. Food was bland and cold, service was spotty. Once was enough.

Benitz Bistro is my number one restaurant when I visit Ottawa. The food is always amazing and I am always satisfied with the service. The wine list and the drinks are constantly impressing me.

Tired staff, tired look, tired food.
They have been there for a long time and it shows.
