The truth is, I love greeting cards. I love to give them, I love to receive them. There was a time that I would spend an hour in a card shop, lovingly picking cards for friends and family. But the card shops have really changed. For one thing, at a time when the greeting card is not as popular the prices have become outrageous. One card can cost you $5-6, or more. It has to be a pretty special card and an extra special loved one to be getting that card. Add the price of wrap to that and well....you might as well say goodbye to a gift.
This store in particular was one of my favourites. Lots to look at. Now it seems, well, empty. Lack of selection. The sale items were also a draw, but no more. At Christmas the average cost of a box of cards was over $20. I might have paid that if I could find something I liked. So, I am afraid my trips to this store are few and far between. And much to the family's surprise, so are the greeting cards.

I have always loved Laura Secord chocolate especially at Easter, my favourite being their traditional Secord Egg. However, their prices have soared and their selection and quality have decreased. Their packaging has produced limited product selection and this store in particular seems to have a problem with this. I am likely to buy the odd gift here but not as likely to indudge myself asothers areless expensive. The staff is usually friendly and helpful, the store clean. No doubt I will be checking out those Secord Eggs this year, but probably after Easter when they are on sale. Too bad, this store was one of my faves in the past.

Our family has gone to this restaurant for holidays and special occassions over the years. It is a wonderful gathering place, lots of great food, something for everyone.
Recently, however, we have tried their take out/home delivery service. It is a fabulous deal for a lot less money. The portion sizes are so large we always have leftovers. The food always arrives steaming hot. The only problem is that when trying something new you can't see the dish first. We have been quite happy with our choices for the most part but have hit a few duds as well. The telephone staff are usually helpful but surprises still happen.
If you find the cost of eating at this restaurant a little pricey, give the take out/delivery a try. The cost is lower and the food is good.

Although there are 2 other stores in this chain closer to me I continue to go back to this location. I know that I will find the copy machines in working order and the staff willing to help me if needed. These stores have a real warehouse feel, often not the most comfortable shopping environment. But this one is clean, well lit and the best yet. The products are usually in good supply and the prices reasonable. I find some end of line sales items to be exceptional bargains, but no guarantee what is available at any given time. It is located in Shoppers World Danforth, not my favourite of places to shop. However, this store is reliable and for that reason I will continue to shop here.

At the last minute we were looking for an unusual bouquet of flowers to give to our son for his directorial debut. Tucked in a corner of Eglinton Square is this wonderful florist. The staff member put together a spectacular arrangement of the most fabulous blooms, interesting colours and flowers. She is quite an artist! We were very pleased with the arrangement and the price was reasonable. It turns out my husband has actually been buying me flowers here for a number of years! I recommend you check out this florist, you will be pleased with the experience.

I had heard wonderful things about this store for years so decided to check it out. The aroma when entering is amazing. Unfortunately I was disappointed by the produce, the very reason for my trip there. I don't mind paying the higher prices for their goods but the quality was just not up to par. I have decided to try on several occasions, the same result. Some veggies great, others poor quality.
I will say their selection of bakery items and breads is excellent. We have enjoyed everything we have tried.
The store is ceratinly very busy every time I have been there. Anyone I know who has tried their lunches has raved about them.
I won't make any special trips to shop here, but when in the neighbourhood I always pop in for a look. You never know!

I love this bookstore! I could spend hours and hours in here. It is comfortable, clean, spacious and contains endless shelves and tables full of wonderful volumes. So much to choose from! The children's section is fabulous. The best Dr Seuss selection I have seen. The mystery section superb!
Now, the down side. I was looking for some Hannukah stories to give our friends' daughter....nothing to be found. And
although the smell of freshly brewed coffee from the interior Starbucks is wonderful, the people carrying it around the store, while reading unpurchased merchandise is not.
Check this store out. Great bargains. Get lost in the volumes!
