Surgeons make mistakes

My surgery was done in September 2015 by Mr N.ROSS.
Wound was almost 4 inches long, held - after surgery - by 14 surgical clips.
At the bottom 1 inch he didn't put them properly, leaving wound half open,
resulting in prolonged pain /healing and - after 3 weeks - in lump of elevated skin.
I took pictures of the wound every second day.
I just hope that he did better job inside, while repairing my hernia.
Experienced surgeon ...but sloppy ???

Here is similar patient's complain from 2011: ( https://shouldiceherniarepair.wordpress.com/ )

At 9:00 am Dr. Ross came to the room to remove half of the staples and informed me that he had stabbed himself with one of the needles used on me and asked permission to have my blood tested. Of course, I consented. I wasn’t too please with his clipping job, as he left a lump of skin at the base of the incision. I hope it heals better than it looks now. :(

Hi there, I did my surgery last week Dr Ross also opperated on me (umbelical hernia) I must say the clipping job was very bad, the same as how you discribe yours. I wanted to know how your scar looks like now and if the "not so good" clipping job affect you in any way?

I'm so worried as my incesion doesn't look like other pictures posted by other Sholdice patients.

I just returned from Shouldice, my surgery was on August 2nd. My experience was the same as several have mentioned here, my scar was long even though my hernia was not that big. At the bottom end of the incision the clip seemed to dig into my skin more than the other clips and when it was removed I still have a dent in my skin where the clip was. Hoping the dent will go away but not convinced that it will. My surgeon was N. Ross. It has been less than a week and the swelling has gone way down and everything else seems ok, with no problem urinating or having a bowel movement. Am hoping the internal repair was not as sloppy as the clipping job. Time will tell. Good luck to us all.
