Excellent!
When looking for a place to host our wedding reception, we decided to go with Millennium Gardens. We made this decision based on a number of factors: cost reasonability, location, look and feel, staff helpfulness, and of course food. No other place we were considering met these criteria as well as Millennium Gardens did.
They offer a wide variety of preset menus and you're able to negotiate each of them if there is something you'd like to change, all of which we found to be reasonably priced.
They're at a very convenient location where it's easy to get to no matter where you are in the GTA. We've had guests come from France, Saudi Arabia, and all over the GTA and had no issues arriving and finding the location. The only issue we did encounter (as our guests) was that It can be a little tricky finding out how to actually get into the parking lot if you haven't been there before.
The location itself was constructed not too long ago, and definitely has a very very good look and feel to it, especially once you have all the lights. They don't allow you to modify their default backdrops - no matter how small the change may be - where the head table is, so if you want a different look, you'd need to hire a company that can bring in their own custom backdrops. For most people, this shouldn't really be a big issue though as the default look looks very nice once all the lights are on. They have built in lights in each of their halls, enough for each table to have their own spotlights, and have some nifty light shapes on the dance floor as well.
The staff there was also nice to deal with. We've personally had dealt with the owner Maureen, her daughter Patrycja, and their head technician Andrew, and all were a pleasure to deal with. Maureen and Patrycja made themselves available to us whenever we had questions; always answering our emails in a timely fashion, and they did whatever they reasonably could to accommodate any requests we may have had. Andrew was likewise a pleasure to deal with. The day before our wedding reception, he was at the hall getting everything setup and he was more than happy to demo everything for us, and make any changes we wanted/needed when it came to the lighting. We also hired him on as our DJ, and he did an absolutely fantastic job with that as well. He works alongside a MC named Ela who was also did an amazing job. She even held my wife's wedding dress train as she danced with my dad so she and him don't trip over it. Yes, that means she constantly kept behind my wife as they danced away for that song. I'm very grateful she did that, and it really helped their dance out.
During the actual reception, the staff was also very helpful. We had guests come in late, but the staff made sure those guests that came in late still got their first and second course meals, even though they had moved on to deserts. There were a few occasions where our bartender had left her post, and some of our guests were getting upset with that. Speaking to a staff member on duty for our reception quickly rectified the issue and our bartender came back quickly. It would of been nice if she hadn't left in the first place, but I was happy with how quickly the situation was resolved once the staff was informed of it. The staff packed away food for our guests if they wanted to take home anything they couldn't finish eating. They did the same for any left over buffet food, and uneaten main course meals and gave them to us at the end of the night. Overall I have to say the staff there conducted themselves very professionally and courteously, and things couldn't really have gotten any better.
Everyone of our guests simply loved the food, as did we. We were able to do some food testing earlier in the year, but the food that we got at the reception was of much higher quality and better tasting than we remembered it being at the taste testing. The only issue we personally found was that one meal we had selected was a steak, and the steaks were cooked "well done". We found it very unfortunate that, as we both like steaks cooked medium-rare, and we weren't given the option of selecting how we'd like our steaks to be cooked. By default, the cooking staff should cook their steaks medium-rare, as its widely considered to be the perfect way to cook a steak. Though I hear the Polish don't like to have red in their steaks, so I can understand why they decided to cook it this way; though it would of been nice to have a choice on how to cook the steaks.
Overall, both my wife and I are very happy with the experience we received at Millennium Gardens. All of our guests came out very happy (and some drunk!) and saying only good things about the venue, If we could do it all over again, we would definitely choose Millennium Gardens as our venue for our wedding reception, and would definitely recommend this venue.
