Have you been to the Freak Lunchbox on Barrington Street in Halifax? Well be sure to visit it the next time you are in downtown Halifax!! This has to be best candy store ever!!! I found candy there that I have not had (or seen) since I was a kid. Its amazing decorated with a lot of orginal art work done by the owner I am told. Its just fun to go in and browse although the temptation of the candy will be a little hard to resist!! The staff are outgoing and helpful. Besides the candy they have some strange gift ideas that will certainly work for that hard to buy for friend!. Where else will you find a bobble head jesus for the dash of your car I ask?? They also have a variety of tin lunch boxes that cover the cartoons and sitcoms of our childhood as well as many other unsual but fun items!! Its a great candy store for old and young alike and a must to see when in downtown Halifax with the kids or just on your own!!

When it comes to a buying clothes for my child I have to say like any parent I am lost for the most part. I was in Halifax Shopping Centre one day shopping for my 17 year old nephew who's birthday was coming up. I strolled in to the West 49 and I was approached immediately by an outgoing staff person. One that seemed to know I was lost and wanted to help. She asked what I was looking for and I explained my dilema. She asked me a few questions about my nephew and within minutes had several ideas. She even asked the male staff member working with her what he thought and he went and grabbed another sweater. I ended up buying one of hers and the one the guy went with. My nephew absolutely loved what I got. In fact, he said he had his eye on the one the girl had picked out for him. The staff was great - they didn't push me on a sale, they let me ramble out what I needed and were friendly and helpfu - they offered what they had and left me to decide. It was a great shopping experience and I will return for his Xmas gift!!
