T-shirt hunting with Sarah and Tyler.

tyler and myself were heading to Rabba for groceries yesterday when we spotted something interesting. Across the street from us was a man wearing a white shirt with red arms... and what was that I just saw? Red writing on the front?! Hey, said Tyler, is that a guy in an n49 shirt? It looks like he is heading in to that little cafe over there!

We decided that we would walk past the cafe on our way back from getting groceries to verify if it really was an n49 shirt that we saw. To get a better look, we thought it would be easier if we just went in and had a coffee, so we entered the establishment. There he was... the guy in the shirt... and he was facing the wrong way! He was sitting in a corner with his back to us and there was no way we could see the front of his shirt. We ordered a couple of lattes and waited to see if he would turn around. Eventually he got up to leave... turned around... and...

It wasn't an n49 shirt at all.

I was very...

Fond childhood memories.

I have such wonderful memories of this place. I went to this resort about three time when I was little, with my grandma and my sister. It was a fantastic place for all of us. There were all kinds of activities for all ages so it was perfect for my grandmother and myself, as well as for my sister who is eight years older than I am.

The best memories I have are of the medieval dinners they used to serve. For one evening, you would get dressed up and create a fake name for your groups castle. Everyone would meet up in a huge dining room and you would be greeted by a king and queen. There were many festivities and forms of entertainment, like jesters and music. The king and queen would make audience members do silly things for them and you had to comply. It was awesome for me because I got to become a princess for the evening, even getting my own pointy hat. The interesting part was that we had to eat with our hands... no cutlery allowed since it was not available at the time....

You knocked me off the top spot so soon! But I guess this place sounds pretty awesome..I would like my own pointy princess hat. I have to assume mine would be purple, with gems on it.

Yummy Ice Cream!

For about 5 years my family has been going to this Kawartha Dairy up in Bancroft Ontario. Every summer my family stays at a little shack on Lake Lavallée. It is located in the middle of nowhere, and to get to it, you have to travel about half and hour down twisty roads and a terrifying dirt road that cannot be accessed in the winter at all. As much as I love staying at the cabin, I also love checking out the local area and I have managed to convince my parents to make the trip to Kawartha Dairy a tradition. I always manage to convince them to travel back down that nauseating road to enjoy a couple scoops of delicious ice cream. Every year I try a different flavour and they never disappoint me! I am sure we will keep going back!

Bad experiences.

This is the closest McDonald's to where I live now and it is the worst one I have ever been to. The staff are friendly and do a wonderful job but the customers are people I want to stay very far away from.

The first time Tyler and I ever ate there, a large group of roudy teenagers were hanging around the doors. We sat at a table, somewhat enjoying our food, when all of a sudden we both started gagging and coughing... our eyes were watering and we couldnt breathe. The burn was absolutely terrible. The same time this happened, the group of teenagers had exited the building and were laughing from outside the doors. A worker who was cleaning up tables was gagging and burning too. We realized later that they had hit us with some pepper spray.

Other times when I stop in there, the local crazy people will be hanging around the doors and wandering around the establishment. They don't cause alot of trouble but they smell bad and arent great company when they hoot...

Terrible Service.

My friend had to have her high school transcripts from another country looked at by professionals to see if they were equivalent to Canadian standards.

We obtained a business card for this company and we headed down to get things sorted out.
I was very disappointed with the service. The woman we spoke to was very rude and treated my friend like and idiot because she has an accent and is an immigrant. She told us information that was misleading and confusing not only to my friend, but to myself. My friend kept asking me if I was confused as well, or if it was a language barrier, but I was having as much trouble as she was.

In the beginning of the process, my friend was told what forms she would need to have in order for the evaluation to take place. She had to struggle to get her documents from back home, and after a long struggle, finally had them sent to Canada. When they arrived, they were in a sealed envelope just like we were told, and ready to go. She...

That is so bad. I am sorry that your friend had such a bad experience!

A little disappointed

I wasn't very happy with the food or service. Our waiter wasn't overy friendly and did not give us a great experience. My boyfriend and I both had the Souvlaki and even though it tasted good, it was the same as I would expect in any fast food chain of restaurants. The cost for food was a little pricey for what we got, though I suppose it isn't bad for the area and for a sit down restaurant.
Don't get my wrong though, the food tasted good, I just expected a little more personal and friendly service.

Oh, and they don't accept debit. That was embarassing!

A wonderful experience!

Cozy Thai is by far, my favourite restaurant in the city. The owners are also the servers and are the most friendly and genuine people! The food is always fantastic and the atmosphere is lovely.
If you check it out, I reccomend the Orange Chicken and the Won Ton Pad Thai.
I would reccomend this restaurant to anyone living in, or visiting the Lakeshore Village area.
