What happened??
I was a client of Maria's for several years, and always enjoyed seeing her. She was pleasant, cheerful, friendly, and funny. I purchased my system elsewhere but always trusted Maria to cut it for me and she did a great job.
One day I contacted Brian (her husband and business partner) for an appointment, and he informed me that I was no longer welcome as a client because I wasn't buying my systems through him. He said that he couldn't trust me not to ruin his thousand dollar scissors with sub-par hair systems. (There was absolutely no reason for him to say this.)
I have no idea why Brian suddenly decided I wasn't a worthy client, but it was hurtful. For those who wear hair systems, you know it is a difficult and vulnerable thing to find someone you trust to help you maintain it. To be given the boot because you aren't spending enough money is just disrespectful and rude. I don't know why Brian suddenly thinks my dollars aren't...

For those who wear hair systems, you know it is a difficult and vulnerable thing to find someone you trust to help you maintain it. To be given the boot because you aren't spending enough money is just disrespectful and rude. I don't know why Brian suddenly thinks my dollars aren't good enough, but I'm utterly disgusted with him and his treatment. He often made me uncomfortable when I was having my hair done by Maria because he exercised no discretion about barging into the room and walking in and out during my appointments. I am a private person who does not enjoy showing off my hair loss to people, and having Brian wander through the room always felt like an invasion of privacy. Once during an appointment, Maria's son and daughter in law wandered through as well. I felt like I was on display. Embarrassing.
As a client of Maria's I always enjoyed her personality and kindness in spite of the intrusions. However, I never enjoyed having to deal with Brian. He often tried to push me into buying one of his systems (which simply did not suit my needs) and he made me feel uncomfortable. I will miss seeing Maria but I won't miss seeing him!
To potential clients, I believe Maria is a talented stylist, but her husband is the one making the decisions, so I encourage caution before growing dependant on Maria's services. He may decide to cut you off.
* EDITED TO ADD *
Since writing this initial review, a "client" of Maria Jaggad Salon has been accusing me of writing fake reviews and of being a "nut". I am not the client Brian has accused of barging into his shop without an appointment. I know nothing about this woman's experience, although I have read her review. My experience was completely different. I was always happy with Maria's cuts until her husband gave me the boot for not buying the system they sell. Frankly I think the system they sell is awful looking. :( They have accused me of stalking them online with my negative reviews, when in fact all I have done is exercise my right to share my opinion. Brian is the one doing the stalking, responding to my reviews as a fake customer who just happens to know everything about their family, business, and policies. Brian, why don't you go write a new business plan that doesn't include insulting and offending your loyal customers? Why don't you go write a new business plan that doesn't include parading your family and dog through an area that is supposed to be private and discreet? Why don't you write a business plan that doesn't include making loyal customers feel uncomfortable and harrassed?

As a long-time client of Maria Jaggard Salon, I can tell you that this review is extremely unfair. This writer was a "nut" who would barge into their shop without an appointment. I've been in their shop more than 100X in almost 10 years and I can tell you that they value every client and are extremely sensitive to our privacy. Brian is the first one to meet every client and we feel lucky to have the Jaggard team on our side.
RonJamie, I am not the client you refer to. I have never "barged" into Maria's house without an appointment. You are referring to someone else. I was also a long time client of Maria's when Brian cut me off for not buying his system. You seem to have a vested interest in selling this business, which makes me wonder if you are really a client or someone more closely connected with the business. Since you seem to be very close to Brian and Maria perhaps your time would be better spend examining the business practice of turning away long time, loyal customers.
