Bad lightening, no cake cutting...
My sister recently got married there. Since the wedding was small, we opted for their smaller banquet hall. Unfortunately, it disappointed. When we originally booked, the Manager had promised access to great lightening, boasted about all their new LED lights that could be customized, etc.
What he failed to mentioned, and what we discovered very quickly the day of the wedding was that the lights were either on or off. No dimming was available. When it came time to the first dance, we had to run to the back and find someone to turn them off. Then we had run back again and tell the on duty manager to turn them back on again for dinner. Dinner was eaten in such stark lightening that it was a bit off putting. The whole ambiance and mood was sorely diminished thanks to bad/ill timed lightening.
The second biggest complaint that I have also was that the cake cutting service was clearly included in our contract, but the night off, they refused to cut it. They simply left the tiers of cake laid out in their entirety on the dessert table. The maid of honour had to thankfully take it upon her self to cut 2 tiers of cake for all the guests. It was just simply unprofessional.
Make sure you get to see their so-called "bridal suite". Its a small bathroom! The suite consists of a toilet, a sink, a see-through curtain that serves as a room divider and then two small cushioned stools. It was so ridiculous, i couldn't help but laugh.
The food I can't complain about. It was better than some other banquet halls I've been too, but not amazing.
The bartender clearly had no idea what she was doing. The alcohol also was so bad, it tasted watered down, but no way to prove that.
