I brought my Golf here to get some rear-end damage repaired. The bumper needed replacing after I got rear-ended. There were also minor scratches on the hatch.
They have a better than new guarantee...(good luck getting it)
I had to bring it back about 5 times to have them fix problems that were entirely due to the work that was done....and I never got things fixed to my satisfaction.
Between all 5 visits I had the following issues:
- They didn't paint the tow hitch
- plastic over odometer and tachometer in the dash was baddly scratched from a wash with a dirty cloth
- Rust was coming out of the hatch window a short time after the repair....after every visit...even though they said it was fixed....and they admitted to causing this problem
- The rubber seal around the window was also no longer 100% as they had to cut it to get the window out. (this was resolved with the last fix...but)
- The last window installed has 2 big scratches on it.
- the interior of the car was supper dirty...black dust everywhere
- there was white primer splattered on various places on the exterior and interior of the vehicle
- the rear fendor on one side is much closer to the tires than on the other side
They eventually fixed everything...that I found...except the rust issue, the scratched window, and the no longer symetrical back end. (The rust was the big issue....I'm anal about car care...there is no other rust on the body.)
(Oh...and I've since found more of that primer on the paint.)
After talking with the organization that handles their "better than new" guarantee I gave up. I basically wanted someone else to do the work....but the way it was going was another visit to have them do more work....and surely screw something else up.
I was hoping that the 12 year VW rust warranty would cover it...but it turns out that surface rust isn't covered.
Do not take your vehicle here!
PS: Southgate repair at the dealership is also bad...I stopped bringing my car there within the first year. Norden was much better....and now that the warranty is up I bring it to WestSide Auto (same good quality but better rates).
