Desro Automotive, Edmonton Reviews (5)
Desro closed down but I've been looking into the YEG Auto Club. Looks like hoists and tools just like Desro but a lot cleaner atmosphere with the UFC fights and sports on TV. Sounds kind of cool! kck.st/2OncLUz
My job was cut in half by doing it with the hoist. Could put up with a messy shop for that job. You have to look after your own safety in a shop like that. Friendly staff and good price. I'll be back.
How much an hour,or half day?? Full day??? Prices posted to site would be helpful, air tools? Oil pans? What do I need to bring they don't have???? why cant this be posted to there site save the trouble trying to talk to them. Shop is that much of a hazard might be a death trap.Stuff not properly maintained..I will check it out but from couple reviews sounds a little scabby, will buy my own if need be and charge people but have nice shop up to date tools and equipment, clean and safe
i guess im not the only one that has had a similar idea. with a more respectable place and professional operation i think you could have a pretty solid business.
This place fills a much needed 'service'. You'll get some help if you ask nicely and Tom (owner) is a friendly guy too. If you need a tool or 2, they're available for a fee as well as a variety of shop supplies, if you forgot them at home or don't have.
A couple hoists, paint booth, several bays, floor jacks, axle stands, tire machine & balancer - all of which Tom will 'teach' you or show you how to operate.
On the down side, many of the elements of the shop do not appear to be maintained well, the shop is quite untidy, trip/slip hazards almost everywhere, the lighting is very poor. And trust me .... go to the washroom before you head to the shop!
But if you need a warm shop, jacks or a hoist ... suck it up and head over - it's worth it and the price is right.

Desro fills a much-needed service. When you need to do mechanical work or bodywork on your car this is a good place, of course you are renting a place to do it, they don't do the work but they might help you. They are usually helpful if you are inexperienced.
